I think Forsling got his flowers for how well he played the first 16 games, especially once the extension was signed. Cant say the same for OEL who was just our nomination for Masterton without a peep from fans. He has played more games than any of our D-men, he has played in every possible pairing effectively and without complaint. He quarterbacked the PP while Montour was out, and despite not necessarily producing at the same rate on offense recently he has certainly been still creating chances.

OEL has been much better imo than anyone expected. Hockey should normalize giving guys rest days like basketball. With all the injuries and things the last month our defense has been way over extended and it’s more important to have them in them rested at 100% (or close to it) for the playoffs.
