Blues are not done. They will resign Petro for 8.5 x 7 year deal. Then they will trade Parayko to possibly The Jets for a 1-1 trade for Laine. Both Tarasenko and Steen will be in LTIR. Blues will re load.

The Bruins offered Krug 6.5 for 6 years. The Blue gave him 6.5 for 7 years. There's hardly any difference in the contract. I don't get this one. Did Krug just want out of Boston??

Im speculating but I was shocked when Petro went public seeking fan support to pressure Armstrong to up the ante. Armstrong plays his cards close to his chest and going public wasn’t wise. That being said wow what a great signing for the Blues. Imo they lose little to nothing. Petro had a tendency to think offense first which led to a lot of odd man breaks going the other way. I think Krug signing is a great deal for Armstrong and the Blues. Rumor this morning Petro already has a deal in place with Vegas anyway
Petro & his agents overplayed their hand. Blues offered 64 million over 8 years, with a 5 year limited no movement clause, and signing bonus. The team gave a little in negotiations and made an honest effort to keep their Captain.
Petro's agents played hardball over getting 72 million over 8 years and a full no movement clause with a signing bonus and wouldn't come off those numbers in order for him to stay in St.Louis.
I guess it REALLY was about the $
