ESPN+ Prospect Rankings #20

Quite a jump from the high 20’s last year even with the extraordinary season good stuff

It’s not great. But considering where this prospect pool was not that long ago. Plus, even though the trade for Lindholm hasn’t maybe gone the way we would have hoped. Not giving up Lekkerimaki or Willlander is still a great win in my book.

20th isn’t anything great, but if you look at the contenders in the standings there aren’t many teams better than us.

Canes and Jets are really the only contenders with any sort of gap on us, and they’re still only at 13 and 15 respectively.

I’d much rather be a good team with a lower tier prospect pool than a bad team with a bottom tier prospect pool, so I’ll take it haha

I mean we were 27th before this so I consider this a w

This feels a lot better than being near the bottom of the list and the bottom of the standings. Being near the top of the league standings and having a middle of the pack prospect pool is a big upgrade on the Benning era.

They used to be close to 30th and not even close to a playoff team so all in all things seem to be trending in the right direction

I’m not convinced losing Hunter really did a lot to hurt our current prospect pool tbh. The key pieces that I feel like stung in the Lindholm trade were the picks. I’m still skeptical that Hunter will look like much more than an overperforming elder junior player, and I’m not convinced he’s ever going to be an NHL regular.
