  1. Gil, nothing on clutter taking over for Roy? lol Let’s announce the new head coach clutter and the new gm Roy. I don’t know if it’s funny or sad that this group of VETERANS has to have a lil pep talk by their senior member? Another forty minute disappearing act. More bs from Patrick. I didn’t think varly was even really tested this game. Though he let in another wrister from the blue line. God forbid anyone clears the front of the net anymore. I’m ready for the line fight on Saturday. Pelech and dobber better be ready. Luckily we weren’t penalized more, u can bet we aren’t getting any calls on Saturday. I mean Casey got away with the interference on the goal. First I wouldn’t be surprised by another no show on Thursday versus Montreal.

  2. Very important win. Could be the W that puts isles in playoffs. In typical isles fashion it wasn't easy. Held on after a 3-0 lead. p k was weak-again-giving up two pp goals. On the bright side useless 18 got in on the scoring, getting an e n assist. Two more wins should do it. Isles closing in on third and date with canes. And caps beat wings 2-1 to move into w c 2 spot. Wings, pens play thurs. I guess any hope of getting a top 10 pick is over now. Even more depressing is the farm report. What a mismanaged mess of louzer. How in the fk can a top affiliate be so bad, so lacking of top talent? Bunch of nobody's, never will bes, and never get a chancers.

  3. Penalties almost derailed us, but the fight was there. Lee throwing the body around at the end is a good sign.

Dobson's hit was not vicious either Peter, you need to calm down with that. Does he forget how you uses Rempe?

Solid game, IF we can play like this we can be dangerous.

  4. Hey Gil, another home run. I’m gonna call it fhe way I see it, 1st period was spectacular but the typical 2nd and 3rd periods almost cost us. Now the typical whining Ranger fans are crying about Pelech and Dobson, yeah Dobson shoulda got called but if they’re crying about that, they shoulda also called the rangers for 4 holds in the 1st period and a highstick in 2nd. I lost a lot of respect for Boomer this morning, someone pass him some tissues, typical whiney crying ranger fan ! He said Pelech was a deliberate hit on Zabinajerk. In my book, Boomer is now a bigger 🤡 than Gio !

  5. Nothing to be excited….but I take points…..thanks to referees not to call penalty 30 seconds to go by Dobson ..otherwise another OT lost

  6. I think Saturday we’re going to see some old time hockey. Even the coaches were getting into it during the pressers. Should be fun.

  7. Now all the Isles need to do is win the 2 games they should win and they are in. Some bad officiating in that game. I hope the Isles ask the league to take a look at that Mika slew-foot on Palms. I think that dirty play is what caused Lav to assume that collision was intentional and payback. He was whining about an invisible elbow, etc when it was Mika who turns into Pelech. You can bet Rempe will be in on Saturday and it will get ugly.

  8. Hi Gil, just wondering your thoughts on that Dobson hit at the end? Was Tro check a bit out of line?

  9. Capitals schedule concerns me. Buffalo is done, Philly is bowing out, Tampa and Boston might be going into ‘rest’ mode.

  10. Well this game was certainly not a "perfectly" played game but we got a perfect result. Pellech-Zebanijad definitely not a penalty. Dobson-Trochek definitely was (we got lucky). Other penalties hurt us. Once we got a lead we stopped being as physical. We played like we were afraid to lose rather than truly trying to win. This a a possibly fatal mental flaw of this team. All hail Varly! I hope he is getting lots of free dinners and gifts on the rest of the boys because if we get to the post season it will likely because he put the team on his back. In response to my own question yesterday, a "perfect" game for ths team woudl be three straight periods like first period last night: Fast, Physical, Focused, Team Effort.

  11. Idk what it is about the 2nd period this year? Seems like the isles go into intermission and and eat a bunch of food or something and then get sleepy! Lol. But thats why this sport is so awesome. Its like playing 3 separate games you never know what ur gonna get from period to period. Happy to see varley playing so good. And im glad that sorokin and varley are such good friends. Because sometimes starting goalies can be resentful about getting yanked. But you can see that sorokins joy for varley at the end of games is pure! Hes legitimately happy for him and it doesn't affect his play when hes net! Super excited for these next 4 games. Lets go isles!!

  12. Hi Gil, I firgured the Islanders would come out with a jump 😮good game for the Islanders 🎉if we make the playoffs I think we could win a series or two. I do agree what you are saying 😅

  13. Good 🌄, Gil, how are you? The Islanders earned another hard fought win over those dreaded Rangers 4-2 was the final. The way they started, it had rout written all over if, but then they cracked in the second period, and they couldn't STAY OUT OF THE JOINT, and it cost them a PP goal. Then they held on for life in the 3rd period. Luckily, Varly came through. Overall,it was a pretty good game this was their 5th win in a row. Noah Dobson got away with a boarding penalty, and he better prepared to act like Rip Wheeler. Patrick Roy's great line changing I said it before, and I'll say it again, Al Arbour would be proud. 🐐, COMMUNITY EFFORT FOR NOT STAYING OUT OF THE JOINT. Hero, COMMUNITY EFFORT. The Caps clipped and flattened The Red Wings. The Flyers lost 8 in a row to those High Flying Frenchmen, who The Islanders play tomorrow. Speaking of, The Canadiens managed to break The Flyers Kate Smith's curse A LONG TIME AGO WHEN THEY WON THE CUP IN 1976. HAPPY 🎂, TREVOR LINDEN, he had a pretty respectable career. Hear from you tomorrow, Gil. LET'S GO ISLANDERS.

  14. Ha ha I love it, islanders fan from the 1st puck drop, certainly got my attention, Note the game in the Garden is going to be a Death Match, Verlamov is earning every bit of his salary, next mission is to Destroy the Rangers, and not be a victim of 9 goals against the Habs 😢

  15. Nice to beat Rangers. They held the lead. But PK still a big problem. It will kill them in playoffs. Assuming they make it. Trap game coming Thursday.

  16. UPDATE-az. yote move to slc will be announced next friday the 18th. Merullio gets a $ billion hopefully to go away. yote final game the 17th vs. oil at the mullett.

  17. Islanders look for ways to beat themselves. They are their own worst enemy. All season long, it's been get leads, then go into a prevent defense that allows teams to come in, move the puck around, when they get the puck just look to get a week clear. They stop attacking. It wasn't that the Rangers got that much better. This team has done this in all the blown games they had leads. If they would continue their play, they would have been a top 5 team with all the points lost. Correcting that will determine how far they go.

  18. Canuck fan here but I've always cheered for the Isles too and even more so since Horvat went there, so it's definitely sweet to see Horvat being a big part of Isles success right now and that it looks like the Islanders are going to make it in afterall. So here's to Isles upsetting the Hurricanes in the 1st round baby! Let's go Islanders!
