Dobson hit on Trochek – Have your say!

Noah Dobson took Vincent Trochek out of the play with a push from behind into the boards. There was no call. The Islanders quickly recovered the puck and scored on the empty net to secure the win. Should there have been a penalty called? Have your say!

  1. Hit was dangerous, but it resulted in no injury. It should be a penalty to be consistent with how the refs have been calling this type of play for the past decade.

  2. Dangerous play. Was going to hit him regardless. So many choices to choose from: Boarding, Interference, Hit from Behind, take your pick. So much for protecting the players. Trochek will probably have a hearing for abuse of officials when the official should have a hearing for not protecting the player.

  3. 2 minutes for boarding at the least. The puck is right there, kind of silly it was missed

  4. Absolutely egregious no call. Every single day we hear the higher ups in hockey saying "we need to protect our players better", and yet they don't do anything about these blatant no calls when the ref is right within 10 feet from the play. Tin foil hat time, Referees and the Department of Player Safety have had it out for the Rangers ever since they were called out by the NY Rangers organization for being incompetent during the Tom Wilson incident.

  5. Clearly boarding. BUT, Trochek has gotten away with much worse and complained that officials are too soft on players. So…

  6. Dangerous play … should have been 2 minutes. The Trouba comments and what Trochek has done comments are irrelevant. Focus on this play in a vacuum and it was a penalty. I can't stand either team so my opinion is not biased.
