  1. Positives: boys showed a lot of fight and came back again down 2 goals.

Negatives: we were down 2 goals again lol.

Really felt we over looked the yotes and didn’t turn it on until we were in trouble.

Still urging everyone to relax and just enjoy battling for first place in the division. I bet if some1 told us in October we will be at 104 points near the end of the season, and fighting for the division, we would all take it in a heartbeat.

They need to change the penalty shot rule. A 2 minute minor should be awarded after a failed penalty shot. Much like how delayed penalty works

  3. wundervanbar

Gear up for Saturday. Score first and score last. Let’s go.

  4. HeavyHeight9192

Demko probably would have found a way to save that OT goal.

  5. StuckInHoleSendHelp

Please God let us have Demko back against Edmonton

  6. Rcsmotherman2002

Left the game when refs gave Arizona a 5 on 3 ….. checks phone : 3:3 , gets hyped checks phone , hronek penalty shot , gets hyped , check phone 4:3 coyotes fuck fuck fuck

  7. Frederick_C_Krueger

not a great game at all but a good comeback and a huge point.

I hope the coyotes play like that vs edm friday.

if not I hope they get relocated to Yemen

  8. metrichustle

Hughes is something else. Where will our defense be without this guy. My goodness

  9. Alpacaduck

This is either the biggest overreaction ever or Gary Bettman’s script.

-we lose to EDM on Saturday. With EDM otherwise being mid, we need to beat WPG on the 18th. We lose in a shootout with Hughes missing the last attempt. Meanwhile Makar nets a hat trick that sways the Norris pundits.
Sad Huggy addresses the Canucks crowd with “We choked” and face the worst possible opponent: the LA Kings.

-Despite Demko getting shelled 6-0 in the first game, the Canucks beat their demons and the Kings in a hard-fought 4-3 series win and get paired with the surprise Predators who upset EDM.

-Petey goes beast mode and easily puts the Canucks up 3-1. Miller then tells NSH fans to not bother buying tickets to game 6. Unfortunately, Saros turns into 2011 Tim Thomas and NSH destroys us in 7.

    I guess we’re happy because 2003 is closer to 2011 than 2013?

The Boeser OT penalty for tripping was a BS call that lost the game

  11. pennepasta14

I just called into sportsnet 650 and spoke to Sat 🙂

  12. CynicalWorm

Question: Why was the Zadorov trip a penalty? did he not make contact with the puck before he slid into the other player? according to the hockey Canada rulebook

“Tripping is where a player places their stick or body in such a way that causes an opposing player to trip or fall. This includes where a player deliberately slides across the ice, causing the puck carrier to trip, unless they make contact with the puck prior to contacting their opponent.”

Hronek missing that penalty shot means he now has to sign for under 7M AAV

we better get Demko back next game. While it’s not all on Silovs or DeSmith and we have other problems, they’ve each let in their fair share of softies. We limited Arizona to just 15 shots and while 1 of them was a bad giveaway, Silovs can’t be letting the other two in. We need Demko to give us a fighting chance so we’re not always behind in games.

Coming home from the game and noticed the quinn hughes bus ad on powell is GONE! which one of yall took it

  16. smallmonkejohndeere

The conversion rate on penalty shots is like 30% on average which is comparable to a good 5v4 power play. At 4v3 though, and considering the PP would offset a penalty kill, it’s a no-brainer. Also, no offense to Hronek, one would imagine Hronek’s penalty shot success rate might be on the left side of that distribution. Anyways, it’s not that important.

Tough loss, some bad luck and some lapses. Good game.

I didn’t open the game thread—it’s almost a rhetorical question at this point, but were the doomers losing it over this one? Because it was comically obvious from observation alone that the Canucks were dominating this game start to finish. Advanced stats support that; we had a massive 72% xG share, and 14 high danger chances to the Yotes’ 5.

Ingram was big for them when it mattered. Upside here: I’m starting to gain hope for Team Canada’s goaltending.

It is irritating that it makes it more likely that Edmonton takes the Pacific, but nothing about the on-ice play was concerning.

  18. Ya I dunno, I think we win that game 9 times out of 10 if we play the same way. Showed some heart battling back for a much needed point. In terms of process, I don’t see this game as a big step back from the Vegas game.

  19. SukhdeepLaDingdong

Hronek’s mistake was going and talking to the bench and listening to all the guys on what to do. What a surprise he tried to do too much and choked.

He should’ve stayed at center while he caught his breath and decided 100% for himself what he was going to do.

I was at the game today – that game was the fakest loss I have ever seen. Canucks dominated the Coyotes all night long, Coyotes were just lucky. There were a couple bad goals let in by our AHL goaltender, who won’t be playing in the playoffs. As well as reffing which heavily favoured the Coyotes. I guess the refs needed them to win with all this negative press about Utah.

Also, why are we not allowed to decline penalty shots?

At this point of the season, 1 point = 2 points. We have the tiebreaker on the Oilers. Makes no difference if we won or lost in overtime. Game was already a win as soon as it entered extra time.

This team looks great for the playoffs.

  21. arashinoko

The comeback was really exciting. Wanted two points, but one is still better than none. Can’t wait for Saturday.

  22. barelyincollege

Lindholm looked much, much better today.

I really like the overall mix in the top 9 with Joshua and Lindholm back. Once Demko gets back up to speed, I think this team’ll be a tough opponent in the playoffs.

  23. wintercom

Like… making the playoffs was the bar for me this year. Everything else is gravy.

I mean don’t get me wrong, I’d love to dip my costco strips on the cup filled with gravy.

On a related note, as a fundraiser for Canuck Place this is one of our most successful Telethons.

But really wish Hronek buried that PS. That might have broken our website.

  24. shadownet97

I came home with a mild case of food poisoning.

Great. What a shittier (pun intended) way to end the night. Hmph.

  25. Lindholm is worth like 6-6.5 million not a cent more. I like home but he’s barely proven he’s worth more than he’s getting now and Mikheyev could be getting 3.5-4
