The Yotes weren't an expansion team. They were moved from Winnipeg. Much like the Nordiques had been yanked out of Quebec, just significantly less successfully. 😒
I like Jesses plan that if the land purchase goes through they make a deal with another city looking for expansion to have the Yotes play there until the building is finished. Utah or Houston most likely.
Atlanta is the golden goose that may or may not lay anither turd but the corporate sponsorship money there is too good for Bettman and the NHL to pass up. So you make some sort of deal saying ok Utah if the Yotes make x amount more than they would in a college rink in Arizona then you guys get right of refusal basically.

As an Islanders fan, my heart goes out to Coyotes fans. I remember years and years of arena talk, moving to Brooklyn, moving back to the coli in a smaller building, and FINALLY getting UBS. I hope for the true fans get their dream arena <3
