Did the Chicago Blackhawks make the right call keeping Kevin Korchinski in the NHL this season?

For rookie Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Kevin Korchinski it was either the NHL or the WHL’s Seattle Thunderbirds this season. Did the Blackhawks do right by Korchinski by keeping him in Chicago, or would he have been better served with another season in the WHL? Jay Zawaski, Greg Boysen and Mario Tirabasi break the decision down in this clip from the CHGO Blackhawks Podcast.

  1. He was rushed and there was literally no reason to have him on this team. Bad teams shouldn’t have teenage defenseman playing in the NHL. He wasn’t the best defenseman in junior hockey last season and he played 6/7 minutes on the World Junior. Ethan Del Mastro played top pairing minutes on that team and he’s in Rockford where he belongs. I hope we don’t have a Kirby Dach situation again especially when Davidson admitted the he was rushed by the prior regime.

  2. He was basically stuck in between, to good for Chl development wise and because of chl rules he couldn't go to where he probably SHOULD of been in terms of development in rockford.
