Hey guys…had a really fun time out on the ice with these guys on Monday. Was invited out by goalie coach Scott Gouthro to an early-morning training session with Colten Ellis of the QMJHL’s Rimouski Oceanic (a St. Louis Blues draft pick) as well as Kenzie MacPhail of the Cape Breton West Islanders and Jacob Goobie of the Halifax McDondald’s. These guys were amazing to watch and worked really hard.
A big thanks to Scott for having me out for the session! A shoutout as well to Mitchell Balmas for wearing the helmet cam (aka The Mitch Cam) for me as well.
Just a note on some of the footage. Some of the closeup shots of the drills are grainy due to the fact I had to use the optical zoom on my Activeon CX. I was either at the hash marks or the faceoff dot while filming and still needed to use the zoom. Not sure if it’s a limitation of the camera or I’m a noob and still learning. Will figure it out for next time. Live and learn I guess.
