@New Jersey Devils

The New Jersey subreddit moderator is soft and banned me for posting this, but people love to say NJ isn’t a good market for sports teams, but our Devils prove other wise!!!

The fact that we’re 11th in a 32 team league and people continue to say we can’t market our sports teams is blasphemy. LETS GO DEVILS!

    I posted something there about the win streak last year. The post was removed and I was banned. I’m thinking that the mod is a rags fan

    I got banned for telling someone they were a bad driver after they posted about wrecking their car, that sub is insanely soft… almost as soft as the devils during a final minute of the period board battle

  3. I once got banned for posting something that was already posted. How the hell was I to know it was already posted?

    I think they dont want sports focused talk on their sub reddit or else it may take over, just a guess though. NJ has a great sports market, even the Somerset Patriots have a pretty dedicated following. I’m just waiting for the Nets to give up on the Brooklyn experiment and come back to NJ. Its really not working for them and would be great to have two official NJ sports teams again. Unfortunately because the east is so crowded I doubt we’d get any other leagues expansion teams but it would definitely be cool.

    Coming over from the NJ sub just to agree that it’s total bs this got removed and you caught a ban. A little good natured sports banter is always fun and this is obviously NJ relevant

    LGR!

    Those rankings make total sense. We’re right where we’re supposed to be, albeit last out of all the Northeast Corridor/Boston-Washington/Northeast Eastern Seaboard teams.

    And I think we moved up from number #17 due to the success we had last season. Might go down now because of what happened this season.

    I got banned because I posted about how I saw in Newark, a Grand Theft Auto and a guy throwing shit in Qdoba … People were arguing that Newark is safe and I’m like yeah only during the rock events.

    I’m a 33 year former resident of Newark and work in Newark everyday. It’s a shit show there.

  8. These comments make me sad. 😞 Thanks for posting!

    I think most of our value is because of the Rock

    Unpopular Opinion: NJ has a terrible sports market. We’re squeezed between 2 giant markets (Philly and NY) and none of the pro teams we have can truly muster up good home game attendance or followings. And I get that the rock does fill up or get close to it from time to time but to call it a good sports region? Eh.

    Most Devils games I’ve gone to are maybe half sold. The ones that garner true attention are usually against the Rags. And don’t get me started on the Red Bulls. Even when they were top of the MLS they couldn’t get half the stadium full for a divisional playoff game.

    I don’t get where people say hockey doesn’t work in New Jersey from. Had a friend argue with me a few years back when the Devils were in rebuild mode about how they should just move the team, and I was like “are you high?” The Devils have always been a top half of the table team in regard to value. There are way worse markets for hockey teams and it’s not even close in some instances.

    r/NewJersey is by far the worst moderated subreddit. If your post was removed, that just means you probably had something good to say.

    Most Reddit mods are softer than baby shit. (Not ours tho)
