  1. Question, can they structure the contract out to be spread over like 10 years and still get paid the same amount? Similar to what the Mets did with that one player who gets paid like 1.2 million a year haha

  2. vlasic nmc clause morphs to a 3 team ntc next year. I'd keep him around at least 1 more year as SJ is not close to not sucking and I don't want him on the books for another 8 years even if the cap goes up dramatically. Let Vlasic suck it up on the backend as SJ maneuvers into a great, lottery draft position in 2023. I doubt SJ is going to be a desired landing spot this year for the free agent class of 2022, especially after the way they've bungled the GM transition and now the coach transition. SJ's front office appear discombobulated.

As for the draft, if the board falls in such a way that teams want to trade up to 11, they should trade down..not sure anyone available at 11 will be any better than those projected to go in the late teens & 20s.

  3. Definite step in the right direction. If Boughner is only partially to blame because of the roster, wasn’t it Joe Will who structured the length and amount of the contracts as AGM? At what point is he held accountable for the cap hell the Sharks find themselves in? Maybe a new coach rejuvenates a few careers and some players no longer seem washed up?

  4. Bob had to go because he doesn’t develop young talent.
Vlassic has to go. He regression is astounding considering Justin Braun gave the Rangers quality minutes all the way to the conference finals. I think the Sharks kept the wrong guy.
Joe Will has to go. Everyone connected to the EK deal should be gone. EK is probably the best player when he’s on the ice as infrequent as that is.
Brent Burns needs to go. I’d love to see him get a ring. It’s not happening in SJ. He has earned it.

  5. a new coach and GM with zero experience is going to fix this? Good luck SJ it's not the coaching it's all your toxic players pointing fingers talking shit on players.
