Saturday night, the Pittsburgh Penguins hosted the Boston Bruins for the final regular season matchup between these two clubs. This game also marked Erik Karlsson’s 1,000th NHL game. Karlsson played 627 games with the Ottawa Senators, 293 games with the San Jose Sharks, and 80 with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Through the 1st period, the game stayed locked with nobody scoring a goal. The 2nd period was a different story. The Bruins scored first on a goal from Jake DeBrusk. Only 14 seconds later, the Bruins scored a second from Pavel Zacha. The Penguins answered shortly after. Drew O’Connor Rushed the puck up the ice and into the Bruins zone. Staying wide, he pulled the defenders towards him opening up a passing lane to Bryan Rust on the backdoor for the tap-in. Kevin Shattenkirk scored a few minutes later for the Bruins. Adding to that lead was Brad Marchand with a short-handed goal. Bouncing right back, Michael Bunting was able to muscle a puck past the Bruins goalie to bring the score to 4-2 for the Bruins by the end of the period. Continuing to battle, the Penguins scored a short-handed goal to bring them within one goal. O’Connor won a loose puck and was able to fire it into the net. As the 3rd period went on, time ticked away for the Penguins. The Bruins added to their late in the 3rd with two quick goals. One from Morgan Geekie and a second followed by Danton Heinen on an empty net. Before the final buzzer, Bunting scored a second goal to make the final score 6-4 in favor of the Bruins.

No playoffs again😐
reilly smith is such a passenger. buddy has two goals in the last two months. what happened to the version of him that scored 6 goals in the first 10 games of the season?
Dubas has some work ahead of him this off season. Got to find a way to get rid of Smith, Graves, Jarry, and Rakell.
I love that OConnor smoked Marchand.
Another two goals for Karlsson tonight! Too bad they were for Boston.
11 goals in 2 games. Once again no defense. But hey, that's the Pens for the last 3 years.
Erik Karlsson has got to be a healthy scratch on Monday vs Nashville. Dude's an obvious liability.
And Karlsson presented Bruins 2 goals today by his turnover again…………
I have seen many many Karlsson's turnover made Penguins lose many games……….
