Ah to be fair the refs have been brutally bad for the wings lately too. Copp literally had his cheekbone broken by a high stick and it wasnt called. Bad reffing all around lately. Really disappointed in Kanes 2 high sticking penalties tonight after what just happened to his teammate. He needs to be more careful, thats really out of character for Kaner.
There's no way in hell they can let him play against the Panthers, I'm sure they already told him he's not playing the last 2 games, but I guarantee they'll rethink playing him against Tampa, I'm sure there are guys in that locker room that are gonna be lobbying for it.

Ok I just got 1 thing to say. What does Auston want? It's his body. If he wants to get 70 and the leafs don't let him I'll be pissed but if the leafs wants him to his 70 and he wants to sit on the bench for 2 games I'd be happy since it's his choice to sit out and rest. About the five minutes on Veleno’s boarding. The refs suck at enforcing that five minute option. Copp for the Wings got high sticked a couple games ago. It knocked him unconscious and broke his cheekbone. Apparently that wasn’t enough of an injury so no call, no review.

I thought Brodie was the leafs single largest liability. Because he is terrible. But keeping him out there is on Keefe, that is even worse than 78. Keefe is the leafs biggest liability

I genuinely think on paper and by looks we have a better chance at the cup than last year or maybe ever in the core 4 era. 70 was a nice dream. Save it for next season. You think Matthews or anyone on that team is going to remember 70 if they win the cup? They'll be national heroes in 2 countries but ESPECIALLY in Canada, and they'll have proven they are the best in the world at the sport they love playing.
Every decision has to be about a cup run here. Which is also why I think you do Woll Jones Woll for the next three. God forbid we need Woll in the playoffs but we saw the last playoffs. Let him get warmed up. A chance to prove that the last month or so was a fluke. He's not played much since coming back so every game helps him get in form. Sammy meanwhile? He ended this game on a high note I thought. Don't give him any more chances to let the mental game creep up on him. He needs to be zen right now. Meditation, yoga, whatever it takes for him to calm his mind and play like we know he can.
