Prior to the Penguins’ game against the Boston Bruins on April 13, 2024, the organization honored Erik Karlsson ahead of his 1,000th career NHL game. Karlsson is the 14th active defenseman and 68th defenseman overall to play in 1,000 games. Karlsson spent 627 games with the Ottawa Senators, 293 with the San Jose Sharks, and 80 with the Penguins.
