I think Newhook will be very good for us. I think Colorado traded him way too early like Chicago did with Dach. With a full 82 games season I think he can reach 65-70 points. What do you guys think?

I’ve liked his game this year Still not convinced he will be a long term top 6 threat but I think this year has shown he has a pretty high floor

Trading him was the right move for the Avs, it wasn’t working there and sometimes guys need a change of scenery to get the juices flowing. But ya, we got a deal with him. He’ll be a staple of the lineup for years to come.
I’m more concerned with Dach than Newhook, I like everything about Dach, but the poor guy does seem genuinely injury prone. Some peoples bodies just can’t take the physicality of the pro game. Dach has missed more than half his career games because of injury, and at his age, that’s concerning. Hoping for a miracle turn around for his career but I’m not getting my hopes up.

I don’t know about 65 points. But I think a 3rd line of Newhook, Evans, and Anderson could do some damage. It worked with Byron in the Finals run.

I think Newhook is the new Dvorak. He’s basically good enough to play a top 9 role but not good enough to do anything that matters.

He’s been scoring at a 60 point pace over the last 25 games and a 73 point pace over the last 10 games. A 25 game sample size is a significant chunk so there’s reason for optimism. On the eye test, I find he doesn’t dominate play but he racks up points with a sneaky speed and good offensive instincts.
