The Vancouver Canucks just beat the Edmonton Oilers 3-1 to seemingly lock up the top spot in the pacific division ahead of the 2024 NHL playoffs. Pius Suter, Dakota Joshua and Sam Lafferty scored, Casey DeSmith was fantastic for the Canucks in goal, we’re in really good shape now!

Composure ….. that was the key for tonight. A couple of penalties here and there for sure. JT Miller and then Meyers made me shake my head a little.
However with the rest of the game saw a lot of…. Composure.
Meyers playing well again, driving to the net and Zadorov really looking ready for playoff hockey.
My gripe a couple months ago was the Canucks finesse players were being manhandled and not given protection. I think that issue has been addressed.

Anyone notice how Desmith was playing the way Demko usually plays today, and not his normal way of playing which is barely in the crease? 32 saves! That's how big the difference was depending on play style!

The McDavid vs Demko comparison was fair. Injuries are Injuries, they suck for a reason. With McDavid out, the Oilers offense needed to step up just like how our Canucks stepped up with solid goaltending from DeSmith with Demko being out. A good team knows how to fills in its gaps.
Lindholm was a fucking beast tonight. That's the kind of player that good playoff teams have.
