Both teams are already eliminated from playoff contention but are battling for the best possible position in the 2024 NHL Draft. While we never want to see any team intentionally lose a game, losing tonight could benefit each team’s draft position.
Cayden Primeau is starting in net for the Habs. Montreal lost their last game 3-2 in overtime against the Islanders. However, the big news around the team is the signing of their prospect, Lane Hutson, yesterday. Although, we don’t expect him to play in tonight’s game.
As for the Senators, they are enduring another disappointing season. The team has already fired their GM and head coach, yet struggles continue.
