  1. We know they lied and fed us full of crap, we aren’t blaming “you guys”. Meruelo won’t get any of my money ever if I can help it

  2. Yeah, imagine being the social media manager or whatever, who will lose their job soon anyway when the teams moves, and having to keep posting "Hey guys, how's "Phoneix Coyotes" sound?? Nice ring to it eh??"

  3. Against expansion in general but absolutely against giving the current ownership group in AZ another team. They don't even pay their bills.

  4. With all respect, the notion the Coyotes would leave after nearly 30 years of instability with different owners (including the NHL itself) and different arenas (and not even selling out the 5000 seat arena), only to turn around and come right back is ridiculous. AZ is not Minnesota; one simply cannot reasonably believe AZ would suddenly support the team long term because of yet another arena. And to allow them to return via forced expansion?!? The NHL needs stabilization right now, not expansion.

  5. Also, Murello, urrello spureelo, whatever his name is, is a conman. He's tried to extort taxpayers for years for a rink, didn't pay the rent in Glendale, and doesn't pay hotel bills. He's got no money, and now Bettman is bending over backwards to get him a billion dollars to go away. Bettman brought this shyster in. Murello is his guy. This whole mess is just ridiculous.

"So far"? ADAM in 28 years they never built a suitable arena. This has always been a disaster, they've never made a dime. Never. Not in one season did this franchise make a profit. So far… hilarious the extent of bending over people do for this ner do well bunch of numchuk owners in Arizona.

  6. Meruelo is a clown and they 100% won’t have a ready to go arena within 5 years. Phoenix will end up with a team eventually but it will be after his window expires and the league will move forward with a different group for that market

  7. Murello will not give up the billion dollars to start another team. He will build the new development and have a casino, then build an arena for another Owner and be the landlord. This has always been about development. Making half a billion dollars profit in 5 years was his game plan. The Coyotes were the vehicle. From not paying taxes in Glendale to not paying hotel bills were part of the plan. All those invloved in the Coyotes adminstration should be banned fromm the NHL. He should never get close to owning another team again.

  8. Would it be tin foil hatted to say they're giving up the team to just reactivate it and try to have a Vegas situation where they come back and have a competitive team? The only real good players they're giving up is Cooley and Keller. Would probably be worth it

  9. Bettman must be crying. He has to give up his most prized possession that he kept trying to save.

I guess Matthews won’t be going to AZ anytime soon eh 🤭 (according to the haters since 2016 Papii34 would go to AZ😂)

  10. "Hockey works in Arizona" Yes thats why they are having to move lol. Please stop with that idea. It doesnt work.

  11. Grew up in Phoenix and never would of started playing let alone watch hockey without the coyotes but the owners have been the problem every time. It also stems from years of the same treatment from the Bidwells for decades.

  12. I don't know why this group would be given another shot at a team when they have had such financial troubles, which includes not paying bills for months, even years.

  13. I won't give another dime to this franchise. It sucks because I was really getting into watching the Yotes. But the way the ownership has treated AZ has left such a bad taste in my mouth…..

  14. I'm confused. I just checked how far the Glendale arena is from downtown Phoenix, and it's 17 miles. The trip would take less than half an hour. Why couldn't they play there?

  15. It wont be Arizona, most people HATE Meurelo now and wont support him. I don't think the NHL will trust him again either.

  16. I'm not trying to rub salt in the wound, but I do know one thing…. Ryan Smith pays his bills. It's absolutely inexcusable that the Coyotes and their ownership didn't pay their hotel bills and that these hotels had to band together and actually go to the NHL to get the problem resolved. Will NHL hockey in AZ work with even a new arena in a desirable location? No clue. I'm not going to continue to push this narrative that it will when truthfully it obviously hasn't. The arena plays a huge role as does ownership but they've had nearly 3 decades to figure this all out and haven't. Next step, get an actual owner that's not skipping out on bills and obviously build a new arena in a desirable location. There was just so much uncertainty. He's got to win a land auction… He's going to have the money to build not only the arena and the adjacent buildings etc. The guy couldn't even pay their hotel bills. The influx of cash is his shot to buy the land etc. Know that the franchise going to SLC will in the near future get a new arena and fan support. Sucks that this happened, but how many changes do you get from the NHL before they just say, we are moving on?

  17. Meruelo is the classic case of a rich guy wanting to own something massive. He has no idea or concept of ramifications from being inept. Its a status symbol and now he's going to act like a victim and ignore the booing and vitrol that will come his way.

  18. I've never understood the Glendale location issue. I mean, I get the geography of the valley down there, but I live 45-60 minutes from downtown SLC in central Utah county. During rushour traffic (which will be when many games are played) on I-15, that balloons to 90+ minutes, easily. I absolutely plan to be a season ticket holder from day one and make that commute multiple times a week. I'm not alone, either. Tens of thousands of Uiniversity of Utah fans make the same type of commute to support football and basketball each season. Same story with the Jazz.

If the team's good enough (and, they are), then travel times won't be a problem.
