(@BradGalli): Patrick Kane was asked last week about his future past this season. Following up before the regular season home finale, Kane again reiterated how much he has enjoyed playing for the Red Wings.

I think Kane is more likely to re-sign here than a lot of people think. Obviously, he’s not going to tip his hand either way until the season ends, but I think there’s a good chance he’s back in Detroit
next season. He chose to be here, and I don’t think any of those reasons have gone away.

  1. I would absolutely love to see him stay, but I’m not getting my hopes up.

I’d like to have him back, but only if we keep the Cat/Larkin/Razer 1st line together.

That is much more reassuring than his previous comment, but of course he needs to keep his cards close while in a contract negotiation.

I think it’s kind of a deflection. Say something nice without really saying anything at all. I think even if he stays he will probably take it to free agency and see what kind of offers he will get.

This isn’t news, he’s a pro he’s going to walk the PR line perfectly until he has a signed contract in hand. Yes he likes it here and I doubt he moves.

I mean it’s not like we’re in cap hell

If we throw a good chunk of change at Kaner for the next 3 seasons, I don’t see why he doesn’t stay

Fr. If a cup was on his mind he had several other more popular choices who would’ve taken him in a heartbeat.

I think no one knows, probably not even ol Pat Kane himself. Everyone here is trying to read into things and at this point we’re all just speculating lol

I really don’t expect him to stay, which makes me sad.

I think if Chicago extends him the offer he will take it, but if that doesn’t happen he will reach out to Steve

  11. Stop fucking asking him every game. Of course he is going to say he has enjoyed it what do you expect him to say?

He’s being nice. He’s going to have contenders lining up to get him under contract. It was nice to have him in the locker room for a season, but it’s delusional to think he’d just stay for the vibes.

Here’s an idea! Let’s ask him how he feels about staying in Detroit after every single game and not be incredibly weird and creepy at all.
