3-0 going into the third on a segababa is actually insanely good. That’s quality road play. Home Manson all we want, all 3 of the regulation goals should have been saved. Georgie had his eyes and just didn’t make any effort.
I agree we have been taking to many dumb penalties we’ve been way to passive and we are lost way to much in our own zone
When they play with focus they look like worldbeaters, and when they mentally take the foot off the gas hoo boy cringe
What they've done with a starting goalie who has a below .900 save percentage is pretty remarkable. Get Fourgiev out of there and give the net to Annunen. Wouldn't be the first time a young goalie took the net from the starter.
This team got trashed 7-0 twice during this season. Also, had to come back from behind in multiple games after finding themselves in deep holes (essentially like Vegas in the last game). They are quite inconsistent, and yes, while I like our goalies, they are not nearly among the best in the league. The depth was abysmal until the trade deadline, when some things got fixed. Frankly, I am not feeling too confident going into the first round, especially after receiving that late-season drubbing by our first round opponent

I've lost 99% of hope for this team. Losing a few games to good teams and dropping a few to some low quality teams happens, every team has that problem at least once in a season, the blue jackets game was completely out of the Avs control and playing a back to back against late season Edmonton is a death wish. What truly defines the depth of a team is being able to bounce back from a couple of bad looking losses and being able to play head to head against the better teams. That game against the Stars, Jets, and VGK was a clear message this team is not ready. You'd think with how half of this team won a stanley cup they'd know that playing 2 periods of hockey (unless your Winnipeg) doesn’t win a game but apparently not. They've got one more game against a good opponent to set an example and establish what this team is trying to accomplish. Seems like ever since Mackinnon lost his point streak against NY, the Avs have been half-assing every game since.
GM said he needed to get a goalie at deadline. The coach all year has put a positive spin on team and has not gotten the team to play at its full potential all year. Need a goalie and a head coach over the summer. Of not it will be a repeat of the last two years.
The problem they have no Patrick Roy to clean up their defensive. mistakes an when they make penalties game winning saves never replaced him no defenders close to Barbashev and Karlson Georgiev unable to make the saves Karlson makes a breakaway goal their fastest skater MacKinnon could not catch Karlson Manson goes to the penalty box Eichel makes a long distance goal they win the game

I was at the game and it was painfully simple… they absolutely turned off the offense in the third. Zero. Dump puck… run to bench. Dump puck… run to bench. If anything, point the finger at the coaching. Who decided the game was OVER after two periods?? Who?? Fill in the blank.
After this game there's nothing that can be said or done that can convince me this team will get out of round 1. They can't start games on time consistently, can't play 60 full minutes and can't get good goal tending. And don't bullshit me with comparisons to the 2022 Cup team they aren't the same god damn team.

They’ve shown so many times that the big games are a coin flip. Can’t be flipping coins with your level of play in the playoffs.

Thats the best way to put it, we dont know who they are. When they are trash it looks like they arent even trying. Yet the same players are on top of the world other times. Some players with personal issues *cough*georgiev*cough and others that have gone into assistance programs. A captain that has been out 2 years and not holding my breath now. Who knows
Yeah it seems like it's always a goal come 4 on 3 in OT. I am really hoping this Avs team shows a completely different side to themselves come playoffs because if we keep playing this way, it'll be an early summer.
Oh, we've always known. That goalie issue has been right in front of our faces all season. Offense will not win a series.

I have rarely seen a team with so many meltdowns AND comeback wins in the same year. The point is, too often, they give like 3 or 4 goals in a row to the other team in a short time span. Yes Georgiev has been mostly awful, still cant believe he was at the allstar game and not Mikko, thing is, he is not alone to be blamed for these baffling results. But having such unreliable goalies WILL affect a team, no matter what they say.
Bottom line is, I am not confident going against the Jets in the first round. The Jets are the opposite of the Avs. Consistency and stellar goaltending. Avs go from heroes to zeros in a heartbeat.
Out in the first round… Then hopefully Giorgiev is out before next season!
