I am a home automation enthusiast and when I saw the hilarious [commercial last year of the goal horns going off](https://youtu.be/atdUqkBM88U?si=APJiPM-rI9XC__K1) I got inspired to do this.
I doubt anyone here really cares but I’m going to tell you a little about it anyway to maybe take your mind (and mine) off the season performance.
I have lots of light strips, smart switches, sensors, Sonos speakers, etc. around my main house.
I use a nifty open source platform to connect all of them (since there’s roughly half a dozen different brands and smart protocols in this automation) called home assistant.
I have an integration with ESPN, set to the Devils scoring [to trigger this](https://imgur.com/a/0kdNQK2).
Basically when ESPN recognizes the goal, this gets triggered. Sometimes it’s early or late depending on the broadcast.
My strips and smart bulbs flash/pulse red and white. Any non colored bulbs with just flicker or pulse a few times. My Sonos speakers will play our horn and goal song along with us screaming you suck.
The whole automation is less than 30 seconds and has around 300 lines of code powering it.
Shortly after this video and after the goal is scored, the lights slowly transition back to the default color scheme of the house. My wife has a love hate relationship with this automation lol. You can catch her saying “Alexa stop” all the time.
Anyway, hope you enjoy my last devils goal automation of the season thanks to Timo.

This is SUPER impressive and fucking hilarious, well done dude lol
This is incredible and I’ve been dying to find something like this (that isn’t a dead project). That being said, I don’t think I could use it, as I stream cable with DirecTV Stream and there’s about a 15-20 delay.
That video just kept going and got funnier and funnier. Props to your wife for not destroying it all. She must be glad we’re in the offseason now lol
