Alex Ovechkin deflects Dylan Mcllrath’s shot and TJ Oshie gets an early empty netter. Charlie Lindgren was huge in the Capitals success again saving 25 of 26. The Caps will face the New York Rangers in the first round of the playoffs riding a wave of positive momentum

It would be really satisfying to fry Laviolette in 6 games, humiliating him in Washington. Even if caps lose they proved him wr. A good coach can get the caps to the playoffs unlike Laviolette who was horrible last year and gave up.
