Sparing without a mouth guard is so irresponsible. The fist time I spared I nearly got my tooth nocked out by an “overly enthusiastic” much more senior fighter than me. Luckily I pushed my tooth back in place and it clicked and stuck with me to this day (not without damage to it, though, it is permanently a darker tone than it’s neighbors lol). Years later I thought 💭 about the incident and realized that it was the mistake of the instructor not recommending for me to wear a mouth guard, a fact I was somewhat oblivious to as a beginner!
