This team died in 2003 when it was moved to Glendale.

Why couldn't ownership just build a new arena in Arizona?
This is truly a tragedy. It’s proof that the NHL is not ready for expansion. They can’t support the teams they have. If hockey ever decides to return to the valley, the Murelo family should never be allowed to have anything to do with it. They don’t have deep enough pockets or commitment to success. Next, please!

In the 7th game of that 1999 playoff against St. Louis, Jeremy Roenick – imperial forces mask and all – played twice the game that Keith Tkajerk did. The fact that Phoenix blew that series the way they did was proof that the playoff curse of the Winnipeg Jets was alive and well.
