  1. next year we will be fighting for a playoff spot i am sure of it, with the ammount of players gaining confidence and the younger players developping and starting to show they want to win they will want to win more for the fans and they will, and i know its a hot take but i think if everyone stays healthy and everyone contributes, montreal has a chance of making the top 10 in the league with some teams like tampa declining and detroit still figuring out their situation. but this outcome depends mostly if kent is able to pick up some important pieces for the bottom 6 during the offseason.
This is how i see the lines potentially being next year with the holes they need filled out

    Caufield-Suzuki-Slafkovsky
Roy-Dach-___ (Need of a playmaker and possibly net front presence for this trio with good agility and speed someone in a similar profile of Patrick Kane or alternatively someone who is consistent like someone similar to tyler toffoli but with a little bit more speed)
    Gallagher-Newhook-Armia
___-Evans-Rafael Harvey Pinard (could see Florian Xhekaj in the left winger spot working out, but most likely will have a full season in Laval before coming to the pro's or Owen beck)

    Matheson-Guhle
    Savard-Hutson
Xhekaj-Mailloux (or barron instead of mailloux)

Primeau and Montembeault splitting the starts until we see which one of them we should give more starts depending on preformance

  2. No. As a fan I expect Montreal to continue on a path of developing. If they eke out a playoff spot that would be a bonus but you can't expect a group of young players with little NHL experience to win while still getting to know many of the players on the team an the opponents. It takes time. It isn't like adding 1 or 2 players at trade deadline with already having most of your team groomed.

  3. They are in the middle of a rebuild after loosing Price and Weber on a crazy cup run, this shit doesnt happen over night, I think marty is the right man for the job considering how great of a player he was, hes a perfect front man to teach our smaller goal scorers

  4. Currently he's the right man for the job, his timing was impeccable when hired, and he's had success, incremental over the last 2 seasons yes, but progress nevertheless. Being part of a rebuild has given him the 🔧 🔨 to realize the next stage in the teams evolution. I'd rather have a team built on a high level of consistency reg and post for the long term.

  5. St Louis would picked up else where and flourish. Ya of course habs need him. We get cup sooner with Marty than anyone else out there.

  6. He has to change and get help with the defensive end of the game and get away from man to man his system he wants to play will never win playoff hockey

  7. Hang in to St-Louis until St-Patrick is available
He is doing an amazing development job.

  8. I think so, and I think the question is also too early in the making. We have been through a TON these past few years. Many, MANY injuries are just the tip of the iceberg. We've lost some serious pieces in Price and Weber, and our team is definitely more towards the middle of its rebuild. That being said… if our blueline shapes up the way it's looking to? We might very well be in for a few VERY nice seasons in the latter half of his extension.

  9. True MSL only had 75 wins in 245 games anyone mentioned the over 1800 days of injuries. Anyone mentioned how well they did with the likes of Hoffman Drouin Weber Anderson

  10. Not crazy about MSL. Not aggressive and committed enough. Didn’t once ask Anderson to sit out with his most awful season. I’ll give him another chance, but wouldn’t be patient if things don’t improve greatly in the fall. One that should not return is Alex Burrows, PP coach. Worst stats since he’s been hired.

  11. It's a shame the Habs don't know how to play hockey. They could have made the playoffs…
The man to man defense is a joke.
The fact they have the most short handed goals againts in the league is very telling.
    Least amount of shots for.
    Most amount of shots against.
    Last PP in the league.
    😅😅😅
    Here Marty good job.
