Montreal Canadiens prospect Lane Hutson will make the Canadiens out of training camp for the 2024-2025 NHL season and remain with the Canadiens per @shaynegaumond5900 of the @TheSickPodcastwithTonyMarinaro.
Lane Hutson should not play with the Laval Rocket in the 2024-2025 NHL season per Shayne Gaumond.

Shayne preaching truth.
Finally someone gets it. If you're ready for the big leagues, you'll learn 1000% faster there.
Laval is a place where you build or get confidence back, or learn to become a professional. If you are already acting like a pro, and you got confidence, you don't need Laval, or Laval won't help you. Talent will dictate where you should be. And for Hutson, Montreal is the place to be.
Josh Roy needed to learn how to become a pro. He had the skills, not the head.
Logan Mailloux, same. plus other reasons we won't discuss anymore.
Beyond that, Laval has no player that has the skills to play in the NHL without being fringe.
Reinbacher will be in Laval next year due to numbers, and to build up confidence. And as soon as a spot opens up, he'll be there.
Question is… when is that gonna happen?
Gotta remember that our ''young squad'' will start becoming vets… it'll be Ghules and Xhekaj's 3rd season. Hutson and Mailloux will be the new guys. If we decide to keep Lights It Up Matheson (also known as Blind Spot Turnover What's Backcheck Mike) and Chewbacca Savard, that makes 6.
So we're left with deciding what to do with Barron, Harris, Strubble and HondaCivik. Who'll be the 7th man out? Who'll be trade bait? Who'll make a spot for Reinbacher ASAP?
This is gonna be a fun summer 🙂 Kent Hugues ain't going to sleep much, that's for sure.
Anyone knows Shane’s channel ?
I'm just saying but i never heard anyone back in the day saying Francis Bouillon was too small to play in Montreal, he was 5'9 and the league was more physical than it is today
Great show. This summer is going to be very interesting indeed imo. With all these good defensemen what is going to happen on the trade front? I can't help but wonder.
I disagree. Hutson needs to develop his game in Laval. He also needs to beef up and get stronger. He's going to be a good NHLer but don't rush him.
Maybe start him in Laval …and see if he is ready for the pro style game …then at Christmas…call him up and he shows confidence…keep him up …!! Remember …he is only 20 yrs. Old ..and…needs to " muscle up …to play with big men size opponents.!!! NO need to RUSH !!!
I agree that Hutson iq will keep him in nhl and with their skill coaches in the nhl it would be like Slaf and develop in the nhl also with his size I think he will get run a lot more in the ahl and be better protected in the nhl
Stop the hype, such BS. Hutson should adapt to the speed and physicality in Laval. He needs to be stronger, and work on his shot, too weak for the show. In those two games, he was terrible on D coverage below the dots.
Valentine (Lane was born on Feb 14) is not an ankle biter, he's an ankle breaker!
I don't doubt your reasoning, however the result of Hutson starting in the NHL means that likely Struble gets traded. Or Xhekaj I suppose, but I don't see the Habs trading Xhekaj.
Either way room needs to be made for Hutson.
Same with Mailloux. I think Mailloux starts with the Habs next year, that means one or two of Harris, Barron, Kovacevic gets traded. Barron you can bury in Laval, so that leaves one of Harris or Kovacevic getting traded.
I fully agree though, Hutson needs to play and learn the finer parts of the game from Matheson and Savard
This is what I see the D Corp looking like next year to start the season.
Matheson Guhle
Hutson Savard
Xhekaj Mailloux
Harris or Kovacevic as the 7th
REMEMBER THIS: Lane Hutson is the quarter back of the Habs.
I liked it when Shayne said "Nope".. Couldn't agree with him more. If Lane puts on some muscle to help protect himself next season, I don't see why they wouldn't make room for him like they did Slafkovsky. He's already that good. He needs to learn to play in the NHL now. Not in 2 years.
There is absolutely no way Hutson plays even 1 game for Laval. The kid dominated and was plenty ready in his 1st and 2nd game. Mailloux may have to start in Laval but he has a good chance to make the team too. He dominated the AHL already.
Hudson will never see lavel he is to good a number 1pick in my eyes
Facts all around
Hutson is the best puck controller since Bobby Orr. Compare them.
