We were two dumb defensive plays/two plays of Georgie balling out from winning last night. We made the god bleed, and absolutely ran the ice the majority of the game. We clear up the defensive stupidity, and Georgie gets out of his head/Juice shows up big, we win this series easy.

I did not watch any Jets games this year and knew that they are deep but I was unimpressed, that game could have easily been ours but we know why it wasn’t. The gameplan seemed to be extra aggressive knowing/expecting he was going to give up so many goals. What is it 3/4 he’s given up 7? Full yips and I don’t see it getting better. Still think we can even series and head back home looking good but I hope Justin isn’t sick by tomorrow.

Really hope Annunen is at least available to play backup on Tuesday. Last night was such a missed opportunity and to have a W slip through our fingers is so frustrating. I have been on the “D needs to tighten up/coverage needs to improve” train all season but I’m at the end of the road with Georgiev. Defense isn’t always gonna be perfect, but it just can’t be an excuse anymore. I’m tired of begging for even mediocre goaltending.
Girard coming back should improve our defense and hopefully cut down on mistakes. I think it’s positive that we were able to generate sustained offensive pressure against Winnipeg, which was a concern after our previous meetings this year. Need to carry that momentum into game 2 and hopefully come back to Denver with a series split.

I’m not concerned yet. Remember when we smoked Vegas Game 1 in 2021? We’re more experienced, better on paper and better on the ice, except for G.
And Nate is even more mad now, hopefully.

Feeling really optimistic about the series. We absolutely played our game yesterday and don’t think the Jets can keep up the pace. A few more saves and that’s a win

After more time and less booze since the game I think we did OK. Obviously giving up 7 isn’t going to work but I also don’t think it will continue. Need to cut down on the defensive turnovers and tighten up transition play out of the defensive zone and we can win this series. Regardless of who is the more talented goalie Georgiev has zero confidence right now. Annunen starts game 2. We need to win on Tuesday and take one away.

Tbh going into this game I was nervous. No Drouin, who knows what’s going on with Landy, no Sammy G, Juice sick, unsure if Toews would be distracted since his wife just gave birth, etc. Avs played better than we’ve seen them play in a little while now. I guess maybe they were just coasting through the end of the regular season to avoid any major injuries? Clearly D needs to tighten up and stop with sloppy turnovers in front of the net. Juice needs to start. But overall I think if they keep playing like that and if Juice can make some saves they win this series

the worst part about last night was just letting such an easily winnable game slip away from us.
But the rest of it? Incredibly confidence inspiring. Putting up six on Hellebuyck in their own barn is a hell of a feat, and all we need is to not have literally the worst goaltending performance in recent history and we absolutely own the Jets. And even with the absolute joke of a goaltending performance last night if our defense made one or two fewer breakdowns that game goes to it and we win, so being that close despite atrocious team goaltending is making me feel pretty good.

Just this once I wish Bednar went scorched earth on Georgiev in the post game presser last night. It’s probably because Annunen is sick and not a guarantee for game 2 but I really REALLY wanted Bednar to say that Georgiev went out there and failed his team mates and should feel disgusted with himself as a hockey player. But what’s done is done, just hope for the better in game 2.
