  1. Idk why Rudo keeps ripping Toews for that 2 on 1. You should take the pass and let the goalie have the shooter, he managed to do both and Georgiev still got scored on. But seriously stop bashing him for that.

  2. If all I knew was, Av's scored 6 goals on 45 shots, compared to Jet's 23 shots…there's no way I'm betting Jet's scored 7 on 23 shots in a game, that just doesn't happen with the Jet's everyday these days? Something isn't right here? Jet's aren't a high scoring shootout type of team. Go Jet's!!!

  3. Empty the net from pick drop…would it really be much different,&at least you get the extra attacker. Obviously I'm kidding but last night was beyond inexcusable. I've defended Giorgiev more than many-at times this year now nuanced,& simplistic analysis just automatically blames the goalie if a goal is scored-2nd goal last night-perfect example-thats not in Giorgiev but an abysmal turnover by Manson.I think he's got too much blame at times this yr. And the dude was a top 4 or 5 goalie last regular season-with a decimated roster usually in front of him. And while Grubauer outplayed him in that series-it wasn't by much.Grubauer was great but Giorgiev was pretty good Id say.

But even I can't defend him anymore-he clearly has ZERO confidence,& the team doesn't trust him at all-for good reason. They are classy,& say all the right things publicly. But just as bad defense affects a goalie,& makes him look worse-the reverse is also true. When you don't trust your goalie-you subconsciously play different,& try to do too much. The worst thing in sports is not being able to trust your goalie-even worse than not trusting your qb.At least if you have an awful qb-he comes out on defense,& ST. In theory at least-the defense,& special teams can make up for a bad offense or qb-see 2015 Broncos. But while it's possible to overcome average or even slightly below average goaltending in hockey-its impossible to overcome terrible goaltending.

I will say Giorgiev deserves the lions share of blame here-but the organization has to take their share-if this playoffs goes down in flames cuz of goaltending.I was all for the trade for Giorgiev-I don't blame them for trying. And I also didn't want to give up a bunch of assets,& use a bunch of cap to get a Jake Allen,or Fleury…somebody whod challenge Giorgiev as starter. But it is inexcusable they didn't get some kind of veteran #2 or #3 veteran at the deadline. To get a Kakonen-or somebody of similar ilk-wouldnt have cost more than 3rd or 4th rounder,& very little in cap.And 4th rounders in hockey are far less valuable than say football.Theres exceptions of course-but most 4th round picks in hockey have a tiny chance of ever playing 1 AHL game-let alone NHL. You went all in,except at goalie.

I'm not saying Kakonen or any other vet would've saved the day-but at least would've given you a veteran option who's played playoff games-in case of injury or awful performance. Instead your only option is Aninen-a guy who's never played a playoff game himself,& only like 15 NHL games period IF he's even available. And Prospotov-pretty much the same story. And this isn't hindsight-so many of us said this at the deadline. I don't agree with people who say McFarland,&/or Bednar should be on the hot seat at all.Neither should be yet-no matter what happens this playoffs. But if they start slow next yr,&/or have more bad gm moves this off-season-there comes a point…I think McFarland's seat should get warm long before Bednar.

Between the Giorgiev trade, signing,& by far worst of -not getting some insurance at the deadline-this might end up being worst mistake Avalanche 2.0 mgt has made.Even worse than the Ry Jo signing…even worse than the disastrous Nemeth/Soderburg 2021 deadline. It's just a shame to see the team literally dominating WPG-but it doesn't matter. Game 2 is almost must win-but you wasted a night you scored 6 on Hellunbuck-youll likely never even score 5 on him ever again. I saw 2 analytics last night. If both teams just get average goaltending-(& Hellunbuck didn't even play as good as average-so this tells you how awful Giorgiev was)-Avs win by an expected score of 5-2…& if you take goaltending out,& simulate that game-with high danger chances, normal chances, harmless chances, etc factored in…Avs win 810 times,WPG wins 190…81%!

Not fair to the rest of the team to keep putting a guy in there nobody believes in anymore-including himself. And it was foolish,& unfair to the team to take a huge risk,& not address that big question mark at the deadline to any degree. But plenty of time to discuss blame in the off-season-somehow/some way ya gotta find a way to win game 2-or it's curtains. If Giorgiev starts game 3 at Ball after another bad performance in game 2-fans will not be kind for good reason.

  4. unfortunately it is the poopy goaltending that will sink this team. kuemper was below par for the cup run but georgiev is atrocious.
