  1. The Pittsburgh Penguins are in a state of decline, that is the hard truth here. The Penguins spent the better part of 15 years kicking ass all over the NHL, those days are gone now. The Penguins will now take their spot in the mushy middle of the standings where they will stay for a season or two until the bottom falls completely out of things. Every dominate team eventually has to pay the price for prolonged success and for Pittsburgh that time is now.

  2. Sid sees how well Jake is doing now that he left and probably is dreaming of what he would look like in Colorado.
Then Geno can come join the Russian boys in Carolina.

  3. as the face of the franchise and still performing well, a generation talent, i say you have to sign him. Unless sid wants out. But if he wants to stay you have to keep him

  4. He'll do what hes said he will do for the last 10 years, he's going to stay in Pittsburgh. Guy just put up 94 points on a team where the powerplay finished 31st in the league. If they only fixed that in the offseason they will be a playoff team again.

  5. The Penguins would be fools not to give him at least a couple of more seasons. Nearly two decades after entering the League, this tireless performer continue to generate more than a point a game. He finished with 27 more than Malkin this season and is poised to surpass Joe Sakic for 9th place on the NHL's all-time scoring list.

  6. He'll be a penguin forever!!! Multiple stanley cups with the team, i dont see why he will leave when hes won it all already.

  7. More proof ESPNs hockey experts are a joke. Sid has said he’s not leaving, he’s going to sign for 8.7 million again, for how long is the question. The pens are closer than they are far away from being contenders.

  8. Sid could contribute to the Penguins by helping with the rebuild. If he accepted a trade, the Pens would lose a 37 year old and get a handful of prospects and/or draft picks. He isn't the kind of guy to pad his point total at the expense of wins. I doubt he isn't playing because he loves wearing a skating penguin on his jersey. The guy wants to win.
