  1. There is a lot of "VGK derangement syndrome" today.

Defined as "hatred of VGK so intense that it impairs people's judgment".

The question is, "Who is going to be in goal for VGK the next game?" I don't think Thompson was very rock solid.

  2. My judgment isn’t impaired. Not a fan of McCrimmin management. There are 31 other teams. And so much more to embrace than this gaming strategy.

To see Dallas earn that first in the West seeding only to play what amounts to a cast of ringers in the lowest seeded team.. not a fan of this. And fine for those who don’t care.

Rooting for one team in the regular season and having a markedly different group when a number of injured players miraculously return in the peak of things. Reilly Smith the latest casualty of shedding quality …it’s a crap shoot as a fan who loves the game.

  3. Things are going to nastier quickly. While there were plenty of hits, that game was fairly timid compared to some of the other series.

As much as I don’t like it, they will probably stick with Howden over Dorofeyev. The uglier the games get, the more Dorofeyev will get knocked around. Howden actually looked decent.

WTF Roy 10% in the face off circle, how is that possible, and Eichel was over 50%!

  4. For those that care about the actual details here is a breakdown of regular season salaries of the players on the ice for both teams Game 1. I believe it is the Dallas Stars decision to play 3 million under the "CAP" and Vegas is only Over the Cap -$748,317.
However, to say VGK is $20 million over the "CAP" is highly exaggerated even if the full 27 man roster was figured into it, that is only 5.7 million over. Dallas' 25 man roster is 1 million over.
For VGK to be Cap compliant for on ice players, swapping out Mantha for Amadio would put the VGK under the Cap by about a million dollars. I don't think that one change would have made any difference.
