  1. Still not impressed with PV. What’s next Z to NYR? Are these players not tough enuf for our “get off my lawn” old skool GM?

  2. I think I’m the only person that realizes that there’s more than one way to hold people accountable. It doesn’t need to be a benching. Per Killorn from his chiclets interview, they’re held very accountable with analytics up in front of everyone during team meetings, being called out when doing group video review, etc.

  3. It’s not just about pure role and skill; there are winning players in every sport and then another threshold to be a winning player in the playoffs.

You need to play with a certain amount of dawg and energy in every shift to make winning happen especially in hockey. The hustle it takes to win is at another level. If your undersized then you need to play even harder to be a net positive even if you are a center or winger playmaker/scoring. Hockey is mostly won on the margins.

Guys like Zegras aren’t going to be winning players at the highest level of playoff hockey in the nhl.

He’s fun to watch and has some skill and can eventually be a regular season points producer, but his ceiling is like a D’Angelo Russell in sports terms. I will say he's been working on his commitment to defense but he's still a long ways away imo to being a guy on the ice in the playoffs.

Guys like gauthier, Carlson and Pavel I can see in a playoffs series.

I can’t say anything bad about drysdale other than he’s a bit undersized. Good kid, we definitely had surplus offensive defenseman, wish him well.

Another factor is this upcoming draft is pretty defense heavy if you don’t get the top pick.

Another piece to the puzzle verbeek was high on cutter in the 2022 draft year and tried to move up for him.

  4. I don't know, to give up Drysdale and a second for a guy who doesn't want to sign with the team that draft him… these deals don't usually turn up good for teams on this end. Jusk ask Philly if they would make Lindros trade again… Verbeek better be sure that he can sign him and Gauthier better be really good for the Ducks in the future to make this worth.

And yes, Ducks have a surplus of D prospects, but most of them (with high ceiling at least) are left handed and Drysdale was probably still our best young RD. With this trade, Verbeek basically banking on Luneau to develop into the first pair D which is a big leap of faith at this point. But only future will tell. In any case, what a mindblowing trade.

  5. Don't see Gauthier as a star? crazy take. Another thing, Fletcher is the one who chose Gauthier, not Briere.

  6. One concern I have is with Cutter – does he not want to play in Philly because of Tortella? If so, waaaaah I don’t want to get yelled at. No thanks go cry somewhere else we don’t need wimps on this team.

  7. I think you guys are seriously underestimating possible character flaws. Kid told flyers he was born to be a “flyer” only to change his mind 6 months later. Then went on to ghost flyers and ignore former all star pro NHL players like he couldn’t make any time for them. Kid has serious issues and there is zero accountability for him.
