Jason Zucker Injured After Slash by Matt Beleskey Injury Boston Bruins vs Minnesota Wild

  1. Better not be injured we are already missing half our team. Can't afford another good player to be out.

  2. Looks like Beleskey got him on the tendon. I don't care how tough you are, that has to hurt. Hopefully he won't need surgery.

  3. You know, if this was a dive by Zucker, why? Why would he dive? The game is over. There is no point in diving. He doesn't cause the Bruins to get a penalty that will let the Wild even the score. There was no way for the Wild to even the score with 2 seconds remaining in the game. It makes no sense to dive at this time.

Now, I am not asking for the head of Matt Beleskey. This was a common slash that occurs repeatedly in every game. What I think happened is Matt Beleskey slashed Jason Zucker in the back of the knee at just the right moment and with just the right amount of pressure to cause tendon and ligament damage to Zucker's knee. More or less, it was a freak occurrence. Not a malicious act of Beleskey, but it does raise a question of enforcement of rules. Beleskey slashed Zucker by the NHL's definition of a slash. Should all slashes be enforced equally, or should some slashes be ignored while others are not? Or, to look at this more broadly, should all violations of the rules be enforced equally, or should some violations of the rules be ignored while others are enforced to the letter of the law? I cannot answer that, but it is something to think about.

I want Zucker to get better soon and in full. But it wasn't Beleskey's fault. It was a freak occurrence. I think Beleskey is going to be more mindful of his stick use for the next couple of games, though. Doesn't want to get a reputation for taking players out of games with his stick (be it legitimate injury or an acting job on par with his teammates and the Penguins (sorry, but I have to elbow you in the ribs a little bit to lighten the mood)).

  4. I don't think Beleskey tried to injure him, just unfortunately caught him in a bad spot I guess. Definitely not a dive either. I saw an article about this incident and was prepared for something more vicious. And ofc it wouldnt be a Bruins video without some scum trolls in the comment section lol.

  5. I hate to see any player get hurt,ย he has had a good start to the season.ย  Hope he is back soon, good luck from a Hawks fan.

  6. I don't think it's the slash that hurts him. It looks like he flinches just as he pushes off his left skate a split second before he gets slashed. A tap that happens a dozen times per period, even on the back of the leg. I won't be surprised if it's an ankle rather than anything to do with the slash itself.

  7. An incredibly humorous and overly dramatic dive. The league should give Zucker a game or two to send a message. He's a good actor though and kept a straight face throughout the scene. Bravo.

  8. I actually didn't mind the Bruins commentators here. Edwards actually said a player on the other team was good, and showed a form of sympathy. ๐Ÿ˜›

  9. Poor Zucks I love him he's my fave player my dream is to see him in real life zuckers all ways getting beat up ๐Ÿ™
