  1. I'd say I'd care more if we wiffed on a top 3 pick and someone like Nazar at 14 gets picked. As I see, Kasper has time to develop and as long as he becomes a serviceable, preferably top 6 or 9, guy then thats exactly what we got him for.

  2. Kasper can some bring grit to the middle six. Kid is an absolute work horse and I do think he can be a perennial 50-60 point player in his prime. It does leave a little bit to be desired at 8OA, and I remember a lot of the fanbase wanting Nazer since he's from Mt Clemens, MI. But I think Kasper will be a fit in Detroit during the contending window.

  3. Even if nazar is better. Mazur will probably end up on the team second or third line. If he produces at a reasonable rate at that position then all good.

  4. Tough to have an opinion on the two neither have played a full season in the NHL. Hopefully it pans out for the wings with Kasper

  5. I’ll admit I wasn’t thrilled with the Kasper pick at the time but that “Tkachuk under your skin skill player” is proving more valuable by the season. I’m excited to see what he can do. Especially with the group brewing around him.

  6. Nazar isn’t really Yzerman’s type of player. This is a similar argument to Danielson vs Benson (or to a limited extent Edvinsson vs Eklund, though that mixes positions). Yzerman has said he drafts for the playoffs.

  7. In 2016-17 Red Wing roster (last Wings playoff appearance) Henrik Zetterberg (captain) was leading scorer with 68 points (17g 51a) and only Tomas Tatar had goals in the 20's (he had 25 goals). So if Marco Kasper can get close to what Zetterberg did back then and be a solid 200 ft competitor I would take it. But after all we are talking about the future, who knows? I just want to show that there can be different perspectives about a players ceiling because how they FIT on a team roster and culture is a pretty important factor that is never assessed (and maybe cannot be). Additionally, Kasper comes from Europe which is a different style of hockey that has to be rationalized over a term in the minors for Kasper. Keep it real Lego

  8. Also kasper would of did very well this year if he played on the team stevie likes to develop guys longer we know this and he is a extremely hard worker him and danielson will be our centers of the future and even can play wing if we need them too

  9. Yzerman drafts the type players that are most valuable…both in playoffs, in free agency, and in trade. Two way centers, high end D-man, etc. High scoring wingers (Benson), small players unless they have unrivaled skill, and the like go later. Yzerman has missed some picks already (everyone does) but has already done better in 5 years than Holland did in his last 15.

  10. 1 nhl goal, man? Serious?
Kasper is a different type of player.
Detroit need a different type of player.
    Excuse my english.
I am from Brazil and share your videos here

  11. Kasper is the type of guy who can shut down players like Nazar in a 7 game series. Sam Bennett / Marchand style player who prob lands somewhere in between.

NHL GMs value these guys more than they do players like Berggren

  12. If we use the hindsight justification logic, then we could make a case for just about anything.

  13. Yes, no! Yes, no! Yes, no! Yes, no! Easy to argue the pick after the draft You make a pick, you live with it1

  14. Yes he did. He’ll be another Joe Valeno if not worse and Danielson won’t even make the nhl. The guy can’t even score in the WHL what an atrocity of picks
