While not provable, it's easy to assume the pro Pens would have made the playoffs with Ned #1, Jarry #2 all year. Dubas has to be praying he can move Jarry by 2026. At least by then, a buyout is possible without dropping another cap anchor on this roster's final years. ❤🔥🍻
This was a quick one
Nah, Dubas is too proud to admit that Jarry's contract was a mistake. Now the Pens are stuck with a goalie they clearly don't trust, despite of what the players say in interviews. It was pretty much obvious they had more faith in Ned and played completely different in front of him.
Does Dubas think we're stupid to the point of thinking their goaltender in the minors could sway things in a couple playoff games??? Or is he just THAT bad at coming up with nonsense to keep a strong position in negotiations??
Should trade Jarry to the Leafs, he’s better than what they’ve got.
If you remember Murray got a big contract and after that proceeded to be a useless sand bag . Jarry seems to be headed the same way .
These same folks will run Blomqivst outta town after a a year or to as well. Always easy to blame the goalie for the roster . Most spoiled kids do……..
Why has this show become the daily shot of Jarrys bad? I understand the situation is bad but theres more to the team than just Jars. Also, id be interested to see how Jarry looks with a better defense in front of him. The 13 game run that ned had mostly happened after Graves was hurt. It would be hypocritical of me to solely blame Graves, but everyone could tell that the defense was better in front of Ned.
I think Jarry actually has trade value outside the organization. Obviously we know who Jarry is. As you stated… hes not going to be a guy that will regularly steal a game in a playoff series all by himself.
I believe that Dubas is doing some gamesmanship. Hes inflating Jarry's value so that he could look to flip him prior to the draft.
Given the cap going up and recent Goalie contracts. He has quite a bit of value being signed for several years at ~ 5M AAV Range.
If Dubas is willing to move Jake to retool on the fly (in bringing potentially 1 legitimate young guy to seriously challenge for a roster spot… and a key 3rd line role, where they can create a 3rd scoring line).
I dont think the fact he gave him that contract was Dubas super believing in Jarry.
I think his main goal was to not give him a full no trade, which he was successful in doing. At likely the sacrifice of an additional ~.5M to 1M AAV.
I think you are going to have some GMs that panic.. whose jobs are on the line. If the Leafs lose this round or next. If the Oilers lose this round or next.
I think they'd absolutely take on Jarry's contract without needing to retain anything. Or retain much.
And from Jarry's prospective… why wouldn't you want to join a McDavid/Leon led team or a Matthews led team.
Theyre a goaltender & key minute eating D man away from being serious Cup contenders.
I think Dubas will consider going Ned/Blomqvist. Or another Goalie outside of the 2 we have + Blomqvist.
I think theyre keeping it hush hush that Blomqvist is ready right now.
I think in my fantasy world, Markstrom is not happy in Calgary and wants to play for a contender. Flip Jarry and retain Salary for Markstrom. Throw in a later round pick if needed too.
I wonder if KD has an issue with personalizing such player personnel decisions – maybe that is normal for the job but he seems somehow beholden to certain players – Jarry being one.
You’ll never convince me they couldn’t find a team to trade for Jarry. The way goaltending is in the NHL you could definitely get someone to take the bait. Why we don’t move on from a guy that clearly it’s never going to work in black in gold befuddles me but now that Ned proved it was Jarry one question….. what are we doing?! Why the hell would you even want to bring Jarry back? He’s no rental…SOMEONE WOULD TAKE HIM!
Good choice for JiQ…big time saver
😉
There is just no chance that they trade Jarry. Just like there was no chance they were going to make the playoffs. Most likely they let the Ahl kid start the year in ahl next year. Then, based on him and the season the pens are having, they will either call him up or leave him in ahl. Pens good equals ahl. Pens bad equals nhl around the all star break.
It was too soon when they decided to pay Jarry. Coming off injury and not knowing enough to decide. Alex on the other has shown promise. I believe if he can improve his game, reflex's he would do better. Get some fast defenders. Thanks DK
The goaltending is one of many issues on this team. They couldn’t score for most of the season. Neither goalie that finished the season is a #1. Their stats bear that out. They aren’t physical. They aren’t fast and of course they are old. I’d bring up blonqvist and let him play.
i believe jarry has trade value, or maybe thats just wishful thinking
Here's a question. actually 2 questions. Would any of the goalies now in the playoffs be good goaltenders if playing for the Pens?…and would the Pens be in the playoffs if they had a goalie like Vaselesky? Or is this something that is unknowable because to be a good goaltender you need a good supporting cast of players who can help out the goaltender..something the Pens do not seem to have.
If Edmonton or Colorado don't make it out of the first round, then they may be interested in trading for Jarry for the right price.
Everyone is dumping on Jarry, but how many of his goals against we’re really his fault?! Let’s not forget how poor the Pens D has been the last few years AND, for that matter, how bad the PP and OT performances have been as well. Frankly, he hasn’t gotten a lot of help. The Pens PP was better under Nelly as was their overall play after the trade. Nothing against Nelly, who played great. But let’s give Jarry a chance with a better D and PP.
