Ottawa Senators Chris Neil nails Victor Hedman who has his head down in behind the Tampa Bay net. Stephen Downie jumps Neil after the play. Ottawa wins 3-2 OT. Nov. 5th, 2009 http://www.mysenshockeyvideoblog.com/
Wasn't dirty at all. I think people have just forgotten what a good hit looks like… that and when it's Chris Neil, they just assume dirty. Or they assume it's dirty because Hedman got hurt.
I didn't mean anyone on here commenting has been saying it was dirty. But I have heard people say that it was, and that was where my comment was directed, to those saying it was…
the hit itself isn't dirty, but the fact that Hedmen didn't have the puck, and that Neal didn't even go for the puck. Ohlund did the same play either in the game and got a call for interference.
It was clean, he took a swipe at the puck, missed, and got smoked. Intention to play it should count, just like Havlat and Kronwall last playoffs. Havlat intentionally pulled his stick to play it a second later and paid the price. Next time Hedman, get the puck and KEEP YOUR HEAD UP!
@bl2112 he came in with a hell of a speed and he was never looking for the puck so its more of a charing, call it whatever you like, i dont think it was a ok thing to do
@Groundribs LOL you never played hockey huh ?? when someone comes on at you in that kinda speed and when your unprepared for a rough hit THEN it does hurt !!!

WOW… and funny thing is, as perfect as this hit was, still got naysayers saying it was dirty… hitting has lost its place my friends, sad but true!

Clean hit. Neil didn't go for the puck since Hedman was there first and was more focused on taking the man. That does look like it really hurt though.
You're an idiot. End of discussion.
Don't respond to this.

more than you can imagine !
@021Sweden I agree with you, just to let you know, im not defending Neil at all. Im a tampa fan, which is way i mention about Ohlund.
@bl2112 ah ok =)
Hedman, keep your head up kid! Neil rocked him good
This is what enforcers do…why does it surprise so many people?
