On this day 14 years ago, Jaroslav Halak stopped 53 of 54 shots as the Habs won Game 6 by a score of 4-1. This forced a game 7 against the President’s trophy-winning Capitals. Habs would win that game and advance.

My aunt was at that game with my mom! She told me the crowd was wild after each of Halak save when they realise he was going to steal that game! Her greatest memory at the Bell Centre.

That year was so fun to watch, underdogs all the way

That was a great run! We’ve had better goalies, but that run was one of the finest stretch of goaltending I’ve seen.
HabChronicle
it was 3-1!!!

Underrated part of that game, Lapierre’s rocket to make it 3-0. At that point, I thought it was game over for Washington; we were going seven.

Those 2 series were the wildest we’ve ever been while Going out for playoff hockey, couldn’t get into it as much in 2021 even if it was a SCF because the world was on fire.

54 SOG is comical. I didnt watch the game, but sounds like he was lit the fuck up

Greatest game I’ve watched at the Bell Centre. The party outside after the game lasted hours. We knew we were winning game #7 in Washington.

Aside from the cup finals, this was my favorite playoff run. Halak and Cammalleri were such a force

I still remember game 7 watching from the bell center on the big screen. Probably the most fun I’ve had at the Bell. It might have been the penguins series come to think of it. Those 2 series were just a blur of drunken joy

That era of Theodore, Huet and Halak pushing us into 7th or 8th seeds then spoiling it for the 1 and 2 seeds was epic.

The run that made me a fan. Such great memories.

Halak, what a legend. That year everyone thought he was the man and Price was just some young punk. I was choked when he got traded. Boy was I wrong about that one
Ready2retire613
Halak won that series, I was shocked we didn’t get more when we traded him

Was at my grandpas with my dad. He lives on an island, on a lake. Remote. Only had an old tv with an antenna. We boated up to a neighbouring friends cottage, in a storm. What is usually a five minute boat ride took about an half an hour or so. We watched the game there since he had satellite. Great memory. Great win. What a run.

Will never forget those series. Genuinely got to a point where it was just comical the amount and quality of save Halak was making again and again on the Caps and Pens. [“What a night, tonight, in Montreal” – Bob Cole](https://youtu.be/sWjbSb1dLKY?si=9gvwrHk4yWUqhR4_&t=124)
