Discussing the Arizona Coyotes relocation the Salt Lake City, Utah

  1. 12,000 is more then enough for hockey in Utah at least it will appear to be full, Bettman can hail great success

  2. On what to do w/ Delta Center after new arena: Keep it for Olympics plus, if/when the Coyotes come back I imagine they will also take back the Tuscon Roadrunners as their AHL team, leaving the Utah team without one. They just put a bunch of money into making Delta Center viable for hockey. Expand the AHL into the Delta center to act as Utah's AHL affiliate.

  3. As a kid I watched several seasons of Golden Eagles hockey and didn’t have any issues. That was 30 years ago though and the Delta Center has gone through renovations since for more basketball oriented crowds. Here’s to hoping they build a new one.

  4. If they wanted a more viable arena there are other cities that should have been considered to relocate the Coyotes to and then go to Salt Lake City as an expansion after a proper arena is built. It is stupid that for Canada there are insane requirements to get a team and in the US there are virtually none other then the money.

  5. No one is confused but you. They were super clear on how they would be approaching this in the press conference.

  6. The Delta Center did not host hockey during the 2002 Olympics, they were held at the Maverik Center in West Valley City (which is a hockey specific arena).

  7. Be easier probably but costs more money Ryan Smith has money build new arena in same location or near by make it for both sports like so many do. Play in Delta Center till new stadium ready. This reminds me of Barclay's in Brooklyn was liker that for hockey and failed for Islanders not saying happen here. Can do minor stuff to adjust for it if can't get new arena build quickly

  8. People never learned on what happen with the Islander fiasco when they moved to Brooklyn. MOVE THE YOTES TO QUEBEC CITY!!! Dont give a Bull about the small market or big market. Small markets can go a long way. If make a winning team, PEOPLE COME

  9. They need to switch to Big Ice. The players are so fast, they need more room to skate. Start with one arena and eventually they'll all be converted. I don't care if it takes 10 years to get all arenas to Big Ice, it needs to be done.

  10. Suns Arena was temporary. It looked exactly like this. Obstructive view hanging over the ice
I'm done with sports but I think that you are not heading in the right direction

  11. This looks exactly like America West Arena (now Footprint Center) in Phoenix, the original arena the Coyotes played in 😂

  12. The new stadium is planned to open in time for the Olympics in 2034. So Ryan Smith has already pulled a fast one on the NHL.

  13. No new Arena! Smiths said renovation. Not sure what the plan will be. Smith said the plan will be to build a village next to arena. Nothing wrong with Delta center. Just spent 300M for new seats, scoreboard, clubs.

  14. Quebec City literally has a beautiful 18,000 capacity stadium for their QMJHL team. This is absurd, move the team to Quebec City

  15. Honest question, why the hell do they ever build arenas that are basketball only in orientation??? Complete idiocy. There's been countless times where suddenly a basketball only arena needs to be utilized for hockey and it's always a terrible experience when it just doesn't have to be that way. Why would they spend so much money on an arena that's only good for a small portion of its potential purposes???

  16. hence they are remolding it over the next few summers with new technology to fit 17.5 for hockey, and we had 30k show up today just for play introductions….

  17. Arizona coyotes will return but this is a dumbass situation because they're not ready plus they don't have a NHL ready arena and they have obstructed views far as the arena bowl
