The Coyotes franchise will transfer the totality of its existing hockey assets to the new, Salt Lake City franchise. 1. Didn’t think I would cry but Walsh got me too. And then after the video the tv just went black for awhile. Moment of silence for the Yotes I guess.

  2. This is hilarious, this podcast has been licking Alex Meruelo's boots for the last 2 years and now that he fucked you guys over all of a sudden youre surprised 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  3. What twists the screws for me is Meruelo relocating the Roadrunners to Tempe, just to fill the Mullett. Not only do you stick a dagger in the heart of the Coyotes fans, you do it to the Roadrunners fans in Tucson as well. How many hockey franchise is this state is Meruelo going to screw over.

  4. Hope you guys are okay Leah, Craig and Petey. Im not sure if you read comments but this sucks for your fan base and I you will get a team again. In another thought, I think it would be great to see The Hockey Guy on the podcast.

  5. How is it that Seattle and Las Vegas took nearly 5 years to name the team and design logos and uniforms but Salt Lake City can do it in 5 months?

  6. Yall are ridiculous. Winnipeg got the Jets 2.0 back. And we embrace them every bit as hard as we did the team that became the coyotes. This isnt rocket science.😂

  7. As a Minnesotan who was nowhere near being born when the north stars left, I can tell you that relocation hits the community very deep. The Stanley cup that the stars won should be part of minnesotas legacy and that stings. We all still hate norm green up here in Minnesota. I can only hope Josh Doan returns to the coyotes franchise in the near future, having Modano back in Minnesota means so much

  8. No way Meruelo is awarded another NHL team in Arizona, the other owners would never allow it after all the revenue sharing $$ they pumped into his pockets. IF the NHL ever returns it will be with new ownership that has a rink built in Phoenix.. revenue sharing will not be an option for this market again..

  9. Big question is can he sell the right to bring back the coyotes if he thinks he can’t do it in the 5 yr window that the nhl gave him

  10. It sucks for the Arizona fan base who backed the Coyotes by supporting them in their time in the desert, but I think one big mountain that has to be climbed is getting the politicians wherever Morello wants to build is get them to want a team. Seems to me that the politicians don't even want to entertain having a professional hockey team or even having an "entertainment area" where to play at or grow a city further.

  11. Don't want to sound insensitive… but Isn't Utah just 1 state north ? Can't you still cover them for the fans? Allot of Winnipeggers still see the coyotes as the real jets.

  12. 6,000 deposits already put down on season tickets in the first 2 hours of availability according to new owner Ryan Smith…. So much for the narrative that hockey can't or won't work in Utah because of the market size blah blah blah.

  13. I never thought I would live to see the day where I despised a Coyote owner more than I do Jerry Moyes. Next to Alex, Jerry looks like the Ilitch family.

His interview with Gambo was pathetic. You get a 20-year lease offer from Glendale and rather than negotiating with them to where they legally cannot break it again, you elect to play chicken with them.

You've owned the team for five years. Glendale was a problem from the start, per what you told Gambo, but instead of hitting the ground running and running elbows with people to get something done, you are no closer to something now than you were five years after purchasing the team. But were supposed to believe you will be getting something done? Sorry, your benefit of the doubt is gone.

  14. One of his most overtly damaging actions directly to the fans was the restrictions of ticket resale. Devaluing the ticket for the season tic supporters after it was clear that the scheme to keep it looking like every game was a home game wasn’t working was quite hurtful. On the other hand it was the genius of Mr Murillo or his staff to hire GMBA and the coach. These hires were amazing.

  15. I was the last director of sales for the Seattle Supersonics. I completely understand what you all are going through and the impact this is having on the community, staff and family. We also had a five year window, and it's now been 18 years. I'm hopeful things turn out better in AZ.

  16. Your show only came to my timeline a wk ago 7 I was hooked immediately. So I imagine it's the same for a lot of others on here. Such a wonderful chemistry among the crew here and you've shown that this fan base is a loving community.

  17. St Louis Blues fan coming in…It's not fair y'all, I know how you feel. I truly do ,after doing though the St Louis Rams saga 8+ years ago. There's sadness, anger, betrayal.

It's not fair, and the Coyotes felt like they were about to make a run with a young team. I'm gutted fort you

  18. Rewind back to 1996, when a young boy's heart broke as he felt helpless, losing his NHL hockey team from a passionate Canadian market to some city in a southwestern hot desert. That boy wished upon a star that one day, the desert would also lose that team and feel the same pain he felt. 26 years later, the wish the boy forgot he made came true. Sorry Yotes fans

  19. I think when coyotes 2.0 returns fans will embrace the team. Just look at the Winnipeg Jets 2.0. It’s a hard pill to swallow right now, but if it makes the franchise stronger in the long run it will be great

  20. My Hartford Whalers 1997 moved. Carolina fans were classy however. I don't recall one Carolinian fan then disrespecting and Carolina Hurricanes have Whaler nights honoring the heritage. You must realize sports is entertainment but it's not life and life goes on. But Arizona has a chance and NHL wants hockey there and I believe it could work.

  21. I’m from Vancouver and have been watching you guys for the last week and just want to thank you guys for the great job you have done on this hard subject and I hope all you Coyotes fans get the team, owner and arena you deserve

  22. As a Jazz fan I hope I can comfort you guys with one thing: Every new player that comes to Jazz (even if they have been with many teams before) always compliments how the organisation reaches out for the players right away and takes good care of the players from the moment they are signed. And not only players but their families too: there is a lot of more activities for players wives to do together than other teams have had where they have came from. And players kids are very welcome to roam around facilities too.

So whatever happens otherwise with the team, I believe that they will be well cared for, similar to Jazz guys 😃

  23. I cried about this too, I'm finally getting NHL in my city. It's transformative and life changing for us. I wasn't even a big hockey fan before, more of a casual fan. But I'm all in now!
