KAAPO KÄHKÖNEN IS THE GOALIE THE NEW JERSEY DEVILS NEED TO START MOVING FORWARD. SO FAR HE HAS PLAYED 4 GAMES FOR THE FLAILING NJ DEVILS. IN GAME 1, Kähkönens 1st as a Devil he was thrown into Madison Square Garden into the most heated rivalry in the NHL. He held his own despite the Defense leaving him hanging. In game 2 the Devils Defense once again allowed 15 shots in Arizona most of which were high grade chances and 3 of them went in so KK was pulled in the 1st. (When Jake Allen has been barrage with goals on less shots he has NOT been pulled. Almost 2 weeks later Kaapo Kähkönen sees a 3rd start. Again against a local rival, and not at home. He came into UBS Arena against an Islanders team desperate to push into the playoffs and who out up 36 (37 by my count) shots on the Devils. Kaapo Kâhkönen left that game with his and the Devils FIRST SHUTOUT OF THE SEASON. For that he was once again benched for almost 2 weeks until he again was tossed into the Rangers rivalry where he was EXCELLENT. Jake Allen could only dream of the saves Kaapo made that night (See my Hudson River Fight Night Highlights to see the excellent saves made by KK. If the Devils organization doesn’t realize they have a gem in their locker room, I have to keep my hopes down.
