Thatcher Demko will miss game two tonight with an undisclosed injury. According to Rick Tocchet, this is a new injury unrelated to the knee injury that caused Demko to miss 6 weeks at the end of the season.

Already up a game. This is a real test for the rest of the team. Full length of the ice D, and finishing offence. Scoreboard pressure. If we were down a game rather than up, I'd be more worried, but I think we can still go 2-0 up.
I might be looking at Silovs. He carried a bad Latvia team in big games. But it’s early in the series, he could rest now and see what happens in the next 2-3 games

I've VERY concerned. It's like losing Hughes and having to rely on Juulsen to get top D minutes. I like DeSmith but he's no Demko. I'm not candy coating this. Reports are saying he might miss the series.

Demko is great but it's not like DeSmith is a bad goalie. Canucks depth and structure is still there. It's frustrating when things go badly but it's been a long time since the boys have even been in the playoffs. Let's enjoy the ride.

Some guys can play a full schedule, and some can't. Demko can't play the minutes of a star goalie. This is Demko in his late 20s. The prime of his career, and he's injured every year. The Canucks should think about a trade before his contract is up. He's a great goalie, but if this is him in his prime, wtf are his 30s going to look like. I just don't see a future where his health improves as he gets older. He's going to end up like Schneider or Price. Great goalies, but by 30, they weren't elite anymore. Demko will be 29 this year. The writing is on the wall. Trade him while you can, and whatever you do, don't wait and sign him to an extension.

Injury prone goalie. We need to start looking for another goalie when Vancouver is eliminated in the first round!!
torn groins are forever and ruin carriers if you're a goalie, he will keep aggravating it every time he does the splits. i hate to say he is done for the year and prob have the same thing next year off/on they may be saying knee or other to hide the fact and may trade him hiding the injuries.

DeSmith is a pretty good goalie. Demko is potentially out. Don’t fear the worst just yet. The Canucks have done very well this season and haven’t come this far winning games strictly on goaltending. They won with their goal scorers and good defensive and offensive plays. I don’t think it will be a dire end to their playoff run. Go Canucks Go!!! 🎉
