At the beginning of the season, I thought the Canucks should make a trade with Nashville, because Nashville had way too many star defencemen and the far too few forwards. Nashville didn't trade with the Canucks, or with anyone, to really improve their forwards. This is why I'm not that surprised the Canucks were able to win with only 12 shots. Nashville is really good at limiting shots and outside of Forsberg, they don't have an offensive threat upfront. The Canucks could let them take a lot of lower danger shots and only just need to make the shots they take high danger shots.
I did think Petey was okay last game, but early on in the first maybe going to a commercial after a whistle, I didn't really like seeing what I thought looked like him being a bit spooked/startled and tried to completely avoid some possible physical contact with a Nashville player (I think it was near the bench). I'm obv reading too much into it, but it just put the bug in my mind that he's thinking about the size factor and aware of how much he's been knocked to the ground. Hope he has some more dekes and can get some clear shots/chances instead of mostly dishing it off and trying to set the play up.

Ppl say Toronto is “too heavy”. Yes, only in the regular season. The players are not competitive/gritty enough to score in the playoffs. They’re never going to be. The issue in Toronto starts with the top down but you can’t coach soft players. Marner and Matthews are exactly that, soft.
a playoff morning game in colorado is just wrong. any playoff game played before 5pm is wrong. i don't know how long this will go on but the NHL needs to change how they make schedules.
