Attention Wings & Pens fans: no one cares. Your teams were worse than the Caps all season and did not qualify. Go enjoy a closer series by more evenly matched teams if that's what you like, there's been a few elsewhere this playoff season.
Also have to laugh at all of the Ovi hate lol. Man is pushing 40 and with A LOT of hard miles on him. He's been a hard hitting, hard skating and offensively skilled monster for two decades in this league, his current form was inevitable and yet he still scored at a high clip by the end of the season. NYR did the right thing by defensively taking him out of the picture and Caps simply didn't have enough to compete without him. Ovi is one of the big reasons Caps even made the playoffs this season bc short of him and Lindgren, this team is incredibly mid. They overachieved while a lot of eastern conference teams underachieved. I respect their grind and apploud them for going this far.
Glad NYR took care of business and now just looking forward to the next round. If they can get Chytil back too, even better for their offensive depth.
