I put together an excel file and general consensus ranking based on the April rankings from some news sites. I read the rules and wasn’t sure if I could post it with a picture or not so I’m sorry if it breaks the rules. Let me know your thoughts and let me know who you want the Flyers to take with our two 1sts that we currently have.

I know there’s very little chance we move up to 2OA, but for shits and giggles I’m very curious who we would select if Celebrini is off the board but we get to choose from anyone else in the draft.
It’s a lot harder to figure out what we’ll do this year since 2-11 could go like a million different ways. I think a semi-realistic great scenario would look something like:
-Catton drops to 12 like Benson last year, and Briere doesn’t fumble the bag
-Columbus decides they like next draft a little bit better and with a loaded pool decide they want to have more flexibility with assets, so they let us keep #36.
-Briere decides to use the remainder of the 1/2 picks on high upside defenseman, and we walk away with something like Freij + Hutson + Badinka
Just praying that one of Eiserman, Catton, or Buium slips to us…….
I know everyone’s really high on Iginla, I don’t think he gets passed Calgary. I also like the players above a bit more.

Appreciate the effort! It feels like so many of the guys I thought might be where we are picking played really well in their respective playoffs/tourneys so it’s hard for me to fall in love with anyone. I do think we’re at like the precipice of that second tier of talent where someone will drop like a Buium, Iginla, or Eiserman. Similarly I was hoping Hage or Artamonov would be there for our second pick but that is not likely anymore
Greentree, Iginla, Helenius, or Eiserman would be solid choices. But I want the Flyers to trade up for Dickinson.
I gotta imagine if Lindstrom drops to 6 they would try real damn hard to move up for him.
He just fits the Flyers ideal of a #1 center too perfectly
I still have the mentality that Tij Iginla goes before 12. It’s too good a fit for Calgary and unless Catton falls I can’t see them passing him up. If both him and Helenius are there at 12 I would want iginla personally. But I’d be happy with either.
Frankly while I hold on to my pipe dream that Briere can move up in the draft (you don’t have to be the 500th person to tell me it’s not going to happen. I know the stats. It’s just a blind hope for fun) I’m happy doing what we did last year and waiting for someone others have passed on to fall into our lap, regardless of position. If one of the top 4 centers are there at 12, take em. If not, BPA
(Not counting Celibrini among the centers because, like, cmon.)
Seems like a decent spot to be in for this year’s draft, not much concensus on the order of the first 15
I think we can add really solid player this year. My hope is for one of the centers to still be there at 12, as that is the glaring hole in the organization. Use the remainder of the picks in rounds 1 and 2 to pick up high ceiling defensemen and hope one of them pan out
Thoughts on Eiserman? I’ve read about some possible character issues and we just went through that with Gauthier.
Just to drop my opinion on the draft:
– My draft order as of right now is Celebrini, Demidov, Levshunov, Dickinson, Lindstrom, Catton, Eiserman, Iginla, Parekh, Helenius, Silayev, Buium, Yakemchuk (Not even going to rank Connnelly, but he’d probably at the end or close to the end of that list so far). I’d separate Celebrini from the rest in a tier of his own, and Demidov, Levshunov, Dickinson, and maybe Lindstrom and Catton as part of a separate tier too (Eiserman’s ceiling probably puts him in this group, but there’s enough risk that I have a hard time justifying taking him before the others in this tier).
– In order to get a second pick in the top 13, I’d probably be willing to trade anybody on the roster that isn’t York, Foerster, or Drysdale. I like all the players in the top 13 that much (Combined with me liking those 3 roster players that much too).
– Some other names I’ve seen that I really like the idea of grabbing with either the Florida 1st, possible Columbus 2nd, or our own 2nd would be Marques, Artamonov, Wallenius, Freij, Stiga, Mustard and Surin. Boisvert, Hage, Jiricek and Chernyshov would be nice too, but I doubt those are available by the time we pick again. These names aren’t in any particular order unlike the section above. Kiviharju isn’t listed yet because I want to see more of him right now before I try and reflect on how I feel about him.
