I’m just so tired of everything always going wrong with this team. Marner gets a high ankle sprain, he’s out way longer than you’d expect, then hasn’t played the same. Nylander is one of the best players in the league until the end of the season before his play falls off and he gets some migraine headache issue. Matthews scores the most goals in a season in nearly 30 years, plays the whole schedule except one game, and now he’s got a mysterious illness.

Played with a guy in baseball who in the year end tournament decided to “tough out” a busted ankle in the final game in the outfield. Opposing team aimed everything for the right field and got multiple bases off every hit because he couldn’t run. Got slaughtered.
On the other hand, Dermott sat out the Calder cup since he was injured and the Marlies won because he knew a healthy sub was better than him injured. He had faith in his teammates to get it done.
We watched Matthews play through wrist injuries multiple years in a row and change his entire game to find ways to score and contribute. If he isn’t playing, and was pulled from a game, it’s for a good reason.
We don’t even know what he has, but I know it won’t matter since a bunch of people referred to a migraine as a “headache”. We could find out he is going through chemo and people would hop in saying “Well Mario did it!!”
