  1. Next year 62% of the Salary Cap is tied up in the top 5 players. Not a lot of money available for a supporting cast. You need solid mid level players to win a Cup.

  2. Go BACK to MLG…i don't care if it didn't have enough seats to make money they don't get their moneys worth anyway. THEY COULD WIN THERE in the playoffs …the cup banners proved that.

  3. This isn't rocket science. The entire league figured it out over 25 years ago after the evolution of goaltending and defensive systems. To win the Cup you need a top tier goalie and a Norris-level D-man leading a six-deep group of D-men. It's actually impossible to win the Cup without those items. Every Cup winner over the past 25 years has had them. But it's a salary cap league and those players are expensive. You can't be a top-heavy team of forwards and be playoff competitive.

  4. Yay another podcast with the loser talking head (Sportsnet) Leaf fans cry and try to explain why they lost again when we’ve all known for years that your team is trash.

  5. Core needs to change. Force a Marner trade this summer and who cares about equal value. Start plugging some holes and rebuild the farm. Of course, best if Shanahan on down to Keefe and even assistants are fired.

  6. I thought this point of the new GM was to get tougher for the playoffs. It’s called Sedin Syndrome. Amazing in the regular season but no balls to make it through a playoff series.

  7. At some point, TSG is going to have to admit two things: 1) The "Shanaplan" has not worked in the playoffs, 2) The Leafs are built for regular season success.

  8. This is Hilarious.
I said it 2nd year in with this core…and ADDING Dubas, keefe and specially shannahan has bee a disgraced…
    So the VERDICT…
    GET RID OFF THEM ALL…
GHE LEAFS ARE BETTER OFF TO REBUILD WITH GUYS WHO WANTED AND WANT TO COMPETE…
ALSO CUT DOWN ON THE STAFF WAY WAY WAY TO MANY OFF THEM.
JUST KEEP AT MAX OFF 12. THAT'S IT…

  9. Culture is the one thing the Bruins have over the Leafs? What are you smoking? To start, theBruins have two better goalies, six better defensemen, and better, tougher stars.

  10. 8 years of the same thing and always the same result. The definition of insanity; doing the same thing and expecting a different result. The first and foremost insanity, keeping Samsanov in net. Absolutely no idea whose going to show up to play. Second insanity, keeping Keefe as the coach after the loss to Montreal. Third insanity, having over 50% of your salary tied up in 4 players. I say have coach sit out game 5 and let the players figure it out, plus, put Matt Jones in net. He's the only reliable player.

  11. Best line. If Matthews and Nylander were healthy it would be fascinating to see….dude hasnt seen last 5 years? Idiot

  12. Leafs are done. Manner, Matthew’s, Riley, willey all need to go. Sheldon is gone too. Skid everyone. They are literally worthless. They are beyond pathetic.

  13. Look on the bright side Leaf fans – if Tampa loses they 'may' fire Cooper – I bet anyone here Leafs will sign him the next day – even if they haven't fired their own guy yet lol

  14. They need Gary Roberts. A relentless pest, pressure on the puck and a forecheck from hell. Good scorer too. But it is the "relentless" part the Leafs need. The heart, the intensity, the leadership. That type of player.
