Does Marner deserve the criticism he is receiving?

The Bruins hold a 3-1 series stranglehold over the Maple Leafs and are looking for their fourth playoff series win against Toronto since 2013. If Auston Matthews misses Game 5, what are the odds the Leafs win that game? Do the Leafs believe they can win the series? Do you think Mitch Marner deserves to be the scapegoat? TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button joins Jay Onrait to share his thoughts.

  1. Everton blames mathews & Marner but what about this useless ass dude reaves dawg is pure ass no hate bruhh that turnover hurted the leafs bruhh

  2. The fact that does he deserve the criticism is being asked is even ridiculous, of course he does he's being paid 11 Million dollars to play hockey, hell I don't remember Mario or Wayne asking for that much in their contracts, he's barely done his job on the ice and it's showing

  3. Leafs may be better off without Matthews. Don't rely on this guy and play as a team. Grind and play smothering defence and wait for your chances. Go Leafs Go. Go down fighting.

  4. There's not a cat in ecks chance any team will get rid of one of the best passers there is. I suspect Tavares will go.

  5. We've known for years that the core doesn't have what it takes to be successful in the playoffs. Yet, year after years the leafs keep it the same and think the results will be different. They need to grow some stones and pull a big a move like the panthers did when they got Tkachuk.

  6. he deserves criticism, but the entire leafs team does too. they all look shaky, unsure, not confident. they look like they are chasing the puck, not sure where to be. they have absolutely NO swagger. To focus on Marner like he is losing it for the leafs is pathetic.

  7. Hey Jay Onrait: your Finnish breakfast opener definitely didn’t warrant a call back at the end of the interview. Cringe!

  8. I dont think Mathews was talking to Marner he was more likely talking to Nylander Mathews looks likebhe was talking to Nylander

  9. At this point it's not ppl criticising anymore just hate for the sale of hate if it was just criticism to better him then ya deserved but no just straight up hate undeserved

  10. Keefe’s legacy in Toronto:
    – Losing to a 42 year old Zamboni driver who works for them
    – Getting embarrassed in a play-in bubble playoffs.
    – Twice losing to a COVID ravaged Canucks team.
    – Blowing a 5-1 lead to the last place Senators
    – Dropping Freddie for Jack Campbell in 2021 but sticking with Samsonov in 2024.
    – Blowing a 3-1 series lead to Montreal because Galchenyuk was your best hope.
    – game 7 2022 and game 5 2023.
    – getting embarrassed by Marner anytime he tries to discipline him
    – all of the above was done AT HOME

  11. Marner plays too small in the playoffs. Anyone watching this team play in the playoffs against a physical team like Florida and Boston should see the fluff four do not compete well against this style of hockey .
Until the leafs build a team to compete against Florida or Boston, which should be their primary objective. They better move out of the Atlantic division, otherwise expect the same results next year

  12. Trade him then, and watch as he wins a cup with another team. If you don’t have a Defense corp to move the puck forward you will never ever win. Period. Marner makes too much money but you have to build a team from the D forward.
