Tinfoil hat time: When Medvedev said that SKA and the Flyers have good relations, could that mean beyond the Flyers saying “Hey, we won’t tamper with Michkov’s contract?”
I.e, could a move like this with Zavragin partially be about coordination with his agent, the Flyers, and SKA about his development? Probably not, SKA is a major hockey team and simply accumulates talent like this no matter what, but its a fun off-season thought. Just good timing after the Michkov interview.

This is fantastic news. Let him develop on a good SKA team and when the time comes, he won’t likely have to go to an aircraft carrier for a year since Danny has an amicable relationship with Medvedev.
