  1. Brendan, with ice-water in his veins clearly Silovs needs to give a small transfusion to Petey to help calm him down and make a better contribution to the series.

  2. The worse we've played the more we've won. I enjoyed the game much more than our wins even if the outcome wasn't what I'd hoped for.

Dare I say I hope we play a terrible game and shut this one down?

  3. I honestly thought the canucks should have challenged that first Nashville goal, they clearly didnt touch the puck to get it into the net and pushed Silovs. This was the only game of the series where you could actually challenge a questionable one because if it doesnt go your way and you end up losing the game (which they did without the challenge) you're still up 3-2 in the series, but if it did go their way then it helps towards closing out the series. I could be completely wrong with my thinking here but just my thought process.

  4. I'd guarantee Silovs representing his country in front of that crowd last year was way crazier to him than rnd 1 against the Preds..

  5. We have to get behind their D and be ready for the pass. Besides that we need play makers behind the net. Garland looks unreal back there, i don’t see why petterson can’t make something work back there. He HAS to wake up this series. If he can’t, trade him in July.

  6. You can also tell Petey lost his confidence. His game on the outside is great and we know he can hit shots but missing that open net a few games ago is proof, to me at least, that he lost his confidence and is in a rut. He needs to up his inner game in my opinion

  7. Hey Brendon How are you from the upsdell’s my dad coached you in baseball Lorne hope your doing well
we met you at a car dealership in Poco you were Signing autographs

  8. In Game 6, it will be the Canucks turn to weather the storm at the start of the game. Outside of the goalies, the Canuck's lineup has not changed a whole lot in the first 5 games and it shows with the lack of scoring/shots on goals. I think its time that Tocchet make some changes because if Nashville pours it on in game 5 and wins the game, it may bring that momentum to game 7 if it came to that. We have been mostly a one line team in this series. Its time to get Petey going and bring the Lotto line back full time, and bring back the Blueger/Dakota/Garland grind line and maybe Lindholm in the 3rd line with Hog and Lafferty and bring Pods on the 4th line to give them some spark. Hronek has been mostly invisble in this series, and it might not be a bad idea to slip Zadorov into a partnership with Hughes and also give him some bodyguard/protection. The team needs to shoot more rather then do some fancy passing (ie. Petey passing up opportunity to shoot and pass instead) to avoid the blocked shots… and shoot wickedly hard to lay some pain on the shot-blockers and maybe make them think twice about blocking. They need to attack rather then sit back and defend and outhit the Preds.

  9. Like the regular season, I see Vancouver unable to play a full 60 mins. Probably due to their play style of battling along the wall back and forth. They’re just burning themselves out for nothing.
If they played with speed they could get into the guts of the ice

  10. I mean Josi enters the blue and clips Silovs, then when he loses the puck Blueger stops very close to our goalie but doesnt push him. Its only when Nyquist charges the net and intentionally slides his foot deep into the blue and contacts Silovs again pushing him into the net with the puck. Complete goalie interference even from Josi to begin with and after Nyquist its a no brainer. Tocchet should have challenged that and made a huge mistake in not doing so. Disappointed in the refs again for sloppy work all game, and for Toronto not looking at this well enough. Its over and it happened but this is continually happening every match with these sneaky preds, running into our goalies seeing how much they cantl get away with and crying to the refs after the smallest touches on them.

Also, love ya Brendan, I grew up watching you and the 1999 to 2008 team, it solidified me as a Canucks fan for life. All the best and take it easy.

  11. When Pettersson entered the league for the first ten games he dominated for stretches, breaking ankles, inventing "alien" plays on the fly and firing laser beams into the net. He didn't have any experience with NHL coaches. He was a stone cold rookie working off instinct and, frankly, anger because pundits questioned to his face whether he was too soft for the NHL. Right now it doesn't look like he's running on instinct at all. He looks like he has Tocchet's systems buzzing around in his head. Is Pettersson "overcoached?" Or, could he be prioritizing coaching advice over his superstar level instincts? Respect for this incredible coaching staff is usually a good thing but I wonder if Petey feels like he's on a leash or maybe he's trying too hard to be perfect for them in regards to systems.

  12. saros kept them in it they were buzzing but couldnt finish the chances… also the powerplay was lack luster at times. silovos was great though, zadorov got a goal too.

  13. I'm sorry Brendan, I was there 1994 & 2011 so i can take heartbreak. But I will never forgive Teddy Blueger for running into our new star Silovs. He WOULD HAVE stopped it given another second and no contact from his own bloody teammate!
