Id consider Marner but only as THEE last resort option. I would also only do this deal 3 way with another team, I do not want to play against 1 of Savoie, Rosen, Kulich 5 times a year.
Marner, Nylander, Matthews – loserville. Took expensive, too soft, chokes in playoffs. Exactly the guys Buffalo does not want. I would look at McCabe though if he had any interest in coming back as a 5-6 dman.

Would never happen but…I’d give power and Krebs and either kulich or Savoie for Marner. Naturally the expectation is he’d do nothing in the post season. Also a 3rd team (west) in the deal would be ideal.

Power for Marner NO WAY. Power is younger and hasn’t even hit his ceiling. Our Defensive depth is our biggest strength
What about Max Domi?? UFA this summer and Adams is looking for a 3rd line centre . Does anyone think Adams looks to sign Domi? IMO no thanks id rather see what Winnipeg is doing with Sean Monahan ? If they resign him then they might look at trading Cole Perfetti who played centre in the OHL,and IMO he would be a perfect 3rd line centre for the Sabres.
Trading Owen Power to the Leafs would be a complete disaster for the Sabres. The Leafs need a 1D, and he is definitely capable already. He immediately becomes their best defender. Why would we do that, in division?

Based on the direction that Nylander is looking before and during his “Stop crying!” rant, it looks like he was directing that at Matthews, not Marner.
And the fact that Matthews didn’t come out for the 3rd period and Nylander is questionable for tonight’s game with “Migraine” issues, supports that.

The biggest issue with trading Power because he’s lacked physicality and hasn’t reached his offensive potential is, he has had a Granato and not a Ruff coaching him. Ruff is a former defenseman that preached a much more physical style of play than Granato. I look for Power to make some sort of jump this year. It may not be a HUGE jump, but I look for him to use his size much more to his advantage and to jump up into the play more.
If the maplea$$es win tonight they will make it through the turmoil and win the cup. It's just to awkward and these things always end up not how you think.

Sabres don't need Marner. They are fine just the way they are. Both couzens and Byram need to bulk up over the summer but new players we don't need especially has beens nearing the ens of their careers. Ruff is full of fluff to get his jersey in the rafters.
Marner is soft as mink fur, last 34 playoff games 5 goals for 10.9 million, no thanks! His Daddy and Mommy will demand his next contract is 14 million, worthless player at that price
I still say they need to go after Hellebuyck!! luukkonen would be a good backup. Let Levi develop one more year. I wanted Zegras last year but I’m not sure about that one now. Maybe with the right trade package. But definitely solidify the goalie!!
