  1. I wish the players good luck in their individual careers but i'll not support the team from Utah. Coyotes fans from Poland are waiting for return hockey on the desert!

  2. How would you feel if they took your NHL hockey team away from you? I feel so bad for the fan base of the Arizona Coyotes. They got screwed big time because of mismanagement.

  3. Congratulations to Utah in getting an NHL team. It seems overdue but glad that Utah has a hockey team. I'm looking forward to seeing this team play and pinning their games next season. Can't wait to know their team name and logo.

  4. No, konečně, tohle si kluci zaslouží, paráda, takže hodně toho sportovního štěstí kluci i trenér Tourigny, budeme Vám držet palečky 😊😊😊

  5. This is good for Utah and the players especially. Feel for the Coyotes fans tho. My daughter got her husband to start going and he saw his first nhl game this year and loved it. My daughter grew up watching hockey and loves and kool her husband likes it now. Amazing how many tickets were sold and the Urah fans coming out to see the players. Hope everything goes well for Utah new team and players, fans.

  6. Quebec City – averages 9,726 (in QMJHL) that's more than Arizona Coyotes and their AHL affiliate Tucson Roadrunners combined – 8,225. And they average over 18,000 a game in the playoffs. Quebec City has a population 839,311 (7th largest city in Canada – and larger than Winnipeg – 834,678). Entire province of Quebec has a population of 8,501,833 (2021) and 39,265 registered hockey players, and 66 NHL players. More than any US state (Minnesota had 59 NHL players this year).

Winnipeg has 800k people and does better than Phoenix, Arizona (6.1 million) in basically every metric. The team has a better attendance than Arizona (even before Mullet Arena). A higher valuation than Arizona. And generates more income than Arizona (Arizona actually loses money for the league). A city of 800k that until last year had an NHL team, AHL team, and a WHL team. That is a lot of hockey teams. Thrashers were valued at 135 million in 2010, and had a population of 5.5 million people. Winnipeg had a population of 731,000 and uses canadian currency, and the value of the team skyrocketed to $200 by 2012. They lost money in Atlanta, but generated revenue for the league in a small Canadian city of only 731,000 people in 2011.

Houston – no NHL team, no AHL team, no ECHL team (if they like hockey so much in Houston (7.1 million) wouldn't they have a team by now in ANY league? Mexico City also has a large population with ZERO hockey teams.) Population of Texas is 29,145,505 (2020). NHL players from Texas – 7

Kansas City – lost one NHL team already (Kansas City Scouts), and the ECHL team is bottom 5 in attendance in the ECHL where are the fans?

Atlanta – lost two NHL teams already (Atlanta Flames and the Atlanta Mistakes), lost 26 million a year, lost 130 million between 2005-2010, the ECHL team averages 41.3% capacity (4,900 fans). Population of Georgia is 10,711,908 (2020). Number of NHL teams in Atlanta = 2. NHL players from Georgia in 2022-2023 = 0. Hockey registration in Georgia after 19 years of hockey is 0.02% (2020-2021) or 1 out of every 500 people plays hockey.

There is a clear cut difference between hockey markets and large markets.

    Fun Fact:

Every major population center in Canada (except one) ALREADY HAS AN NHL TEAM. It's literally just a matter of time.

    1 Toronto Maple Leafs (5,647,656)

    2 Montreal Canadiens (3,675,219)

    3 Vancouver Canucks (2,426,160)

    4 Calgary Flames (1,305,550)

    5 Edmonton Oilers (1,151,635)

    6 Ottawa Senators (1,068,821)

    7 QUEBEC (839,311)

    8 Winnipeg Jets (834,678)

EVERY NHL TEAM IN CANADA GENERATES REVENUE FOR THE LEAGUE

    Fun Fact:
Salt Lake City will be the SECOND SMALLEST US Market in the NHL (after Buffalo)….congratulations NHL….Wisconsin has NO NHL team….what a loser league.

Houston, Atlanta, and Phoenix over Quebec City, Hamilton, Portland or Milwaukee makes me hate hockey.

It's a bunch of Americans literally making the sport worse, but too rich and low IQ to realize the impact.

  7. I don't understand all of these "Utah finally has a hockey team" comments. Sure, this is our first major league hockey team, however hockey has been in Utah since 1969 with the Salt Lake Golden Eagles up to 1994, and the Utah Grizzlies from 1995 to now.

  8. The funniest part about all this is that Utah, NOT Arizona, will prove to the league that YES hockey does work in the desert.

  9. Utah Natives, Planning a Road Trip? May I recommend these places:

    Montreal, QC
    Toronto, ON
    New York, NY
    Nashville, TN
    St. Louis, MO
    Las Vegas, NV
    Los Angeles, CA

  10. This is a good fit for Utah tbh. Baseball didn't really fit but hockey suits Salt Lake City
